For some artists, making music isn’t a choice, it’s fueled by something larger than themselves. This is undoubtedly true foralt metal outfit FIRE FROM THE GODS who, June 14, released the deluxe digital version of their disruptive 2022 album SOUL REVOLUTION via Better Noise Music.
It was co-produced by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Motionless In White, Panic! At The Disco), and FIRE FROM THE GODS drummer Richard Wicander. SOUL REVOLUTION DELUXE – THE COLLABS continues to convey the band’s tagline, “In Us We Trust—-a unifying statement to try to prevent society from succumbing to the growing malaise brought on by soul-sucking technology, divisive politics, and environmental destruction—with four bonus tracks including guest features from Corey Glover (Living Colour), Yung Mo$h, Jayden Panesso (Sylar), and a vehement cover of Rage Against The Machine’s “Guerilla Radio.” Download SOUL REVOLUTION DELUXE – THE COLLABSHERE.
“Some day when we’re all dead and gone some likkle yout from a council estate/projects will chance upon ‘Soul Revolution’ and it might inspire them to change the world,” says vocalist AJ Channer on his aspirations on the album’s impact.
FIRE FROM THE GODS have relentlessly toured the nation with acts such as Sevendust, Of Mice & Men, Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth and Norma Jean, as well as appearing on festival stages including Vans Warped Tour, Rock On The Range, Shiprocked, Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple.

“We live in a world of illusion these days. The world at times doesn’t even seem real. If you don’t want to play the game everyone looks at you like you’re crazy”, says alt-metal group FIRE FROM THE GODS vocalist AJ CHANNER.
IRE FROM THE GODS thought-provoking track “Double Edged Sword” tackles modern day society’s self-righteousness and insincere leanings. The Austin,TX-based band has collaborated with vocalist JAYDEN PANESSO of NYC metalcore outfit SYLAR to add further vigor to “Double Edged Sword” and have today (May 3) shared a lyric video for the collaborative track which is included on their forthcoming digital deluxe version of 2022’s SOUL REVOLUTION, SOUL REVOLUTION DELUXE – THE COLLABS. Watch the lyric video for “Double Edged Sword (feat. Jayden Panesso of Sylar)” streaming below or directly via YouTube HERE. Stream it across digital platforms HERE.
“We are viewing our world through a very narrow scope,” says CHANNER. “We are out of touch with reality or what real life looks like. Some don’t understand it nor want any part of it. When you don’t want to join the proverbial party you get treated like a pariah. Then everyone comes up with a cheeky buzzword to describe you which causes further division. Double Edged sword.”
Due May 31 via BETTER NOISE MUSIC, SOUL REVOLUTION DELUXE – THE COLLABS version will include five new tracks: a cover of Rage Against The Machine’s “Guerilla Radio” and four refreshed fan-favorite tracks with featured guests including Nate Vickers, Corey Glover (Living Colour), Yung Mo$h, and the above-mentioned Jayden Panesso (Sylar). SOUL REVOLUTION’s songs explored themes of self-realization and discovery amidst personal revolution, motherhood, and resilience. It was co-produced by Erik Ron (Godsmack, Motionless In White, Panic! At The Disco) and FIRE FROM THE GODS drummer RICHARD WICANDER. Austin-based rockers FIRE FROM THE GODS have dropped their fierce new single “Soul Revolution” and premiered an official lyric video via Better Noise Music. The band masterfully blends feelings of inspiration and aggression with soul searching in the song. Lead singer AJ Channer sings “Life can beat you to the fucking ground, You gotta get mad and you gotta fight back” and asks listeners to “Change your heart, change your mind, change your soul” for a soul revolution. After touring Europe, hitting countries such as Germany and France, the band will be joining Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, and The HU on tour this summer, trekking across North America. They will be performing “Soul Revolution” and “SOS,” with the latter being released last month to critical praise from Loudwire, that reads “Fire From The Gods have captured that feeling of drowning in unease on their latest track, “SOS,” which is a blend of soaring, anthemic rock and rap with a little reggae flavor.” A full list of upcoming tour dates is below. Stream “Soul Revolution” and watch the official lyric video HERE. For tickets and additional information visit https://www.firefromthegods.com/.
Channer explained the inspiration behind the deeply meaningful lyrics, stating, “Over our last two tours in the states and Europe, I’ve noticed a different look in the audience’s eyes. It seems to me that we desperately need a change and are on the brink of a revolution, not in the violent sense but a restructuring of ideals, realigning our hearts and minds. I believe the real revolution begins in the soul. This song is our battle cry, our call to unite.” Teasing the band’s next album, the lead singer said, “We’re excited for fans to hear our new music and can’t wait to share more soon. This is just a taste of what’s to come.”
Fire From The Gods will be heading back out on tour with Five Finger Death Punch, Megadeth, and The HU later this summer.
