Foghat’s faithful fanbase has been buzzing ever since the announcement of the release of the band’s superb 1999 live performance, called Slow Ride – Live In Concert. This incredible live performance is being released today as a CD/DVD set but what many fans have been clamoring for is to see this killer show pressed on vinyl. Well, the gods of classic rock have obliged as Cleopatra Records is proud to announce a gorgeous double LP Orange Marble vinyl package of Slow Ride – Live In Concert in a classy gatefold jacket with informative liner notes and several vintage images that celebrate this band’s epic career. One listen and you’ll agree, Foghat’s fulsome mix of bluesy soulful rock sounds even better with the full dynamic range of well-pressed vinyl.
Longtime Foghat bassist Tony Stevens shares his thoughts on the release of Slow Ride – Live In Concert, saying “This concert album shows the band at its best with Brian Bassett taking over from Rod Price, who left Foghat the year before. For me though, the gold star has to go to Lonesome Dave Peverett. After going through 6 months of chemotherapy, after having a kidney removed, he came back, 50 pounds lighter in his gold suit and Rocked The House! I enjoyed our ‘playing off’ with each other. Loads of smiles and laughter. This video is a tribute to Dave. A rock and roll hero of the 100th degree.” Sadly, Peverett would pass away less than a year after the recording of this concert at the age of 56. But this performance is keeping his memory and the Foghat legacy alive for future generations to discover!
Fans of classic and blues rock have good reason to rejoice as the legendary Foghat, known for hits like “Slow Ride” and “Fool for the City,” unveils a sensational live album titled “Slow Ride – Live In Concert.” Capturing the raw essence of Foghat’s electrifying stage presence, this album showcases a momentous live performance recorded and filmed in Texas in 1999, just before the tragic passing of Dave Peverett in 2000 at the age of 56.
“Slow Ride – Live In Concert” presents undistilled Foghat at its finest. The power and drive of their classic songs resonate with unbridled energy, offering listeners a front-row seat to the band’s unparalleled talent and enduring musical legacy. This release is not merely a collection of tracks but a testament to Foghat’s vision and impact since their explosive debut onto the world stage in 1970. For a taste of what’s in store, check out the version of the blockbuster “Slow Ride,” released today on all music platforms. Peverett and company have never sounded so good!
In addition to the CD release, fans are treated to a bonus DVD featuring the entire concert meticulously enhanced to HD quality. This visual experience transports viewers back to the thrilling atmosphere of the live performance, capturing every exhilarating moment and ensuring that the magic of Foghat’s stage presence is preserved for generations to come. The full concert will be available everywhere starting April 5!
FOGHAT present “I Don’t Appreciate You”, the third single from the upcoming studio album “Sonic Mojo” which will be released exclusively in Europe on November 10th via Metalville Records.
“I Don’t Appreciate You”” is a classic blues rocker that goes straight to your legs from the first bar and eats into your auditory canals. The distinctive voice of new singer and guitarist Scott Holt, lush guitar riffs and a grooving beat form the ingredients for another fan favourite in typical FOGHAT sound garb.
The song was co-written by Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown, a good friend of FOGHAT, sending the lyrics and some basic tracks before Kim sadly passed away in December 2022.
“Sonic Mojo”, the first new studio album in seven years, offers exactly what the loyal FOGHAT fan base has come to expect from their favourite band.
From the first notes of their 1972 self-titled classic, through their bombastic multi-platinum gem “Foghat Live” (1977) and 2016’s slide guitar-drenched “Under The Influence”, to their forthcoming album “Sonic Mojo”, FOGHAT have always been all about the music. Music that is played loud. Music that is played live. Music that makes you want to move.
“Sonic Mojo” was recorded by founding member and drummer Roger Earl, his longtime FOGHAT companions guitarist Bryan Bassett (Wild Cherry, Molly Hatchet) and Rodney O’Quinn (Pat Travers Band) on bass, and with new singer and guitarist Scott Holt (Buddy Guy).
Three of the songs on “Sonic Mojo” have a special meaning for Roger Earl, as they were co-written with Kim Simmonds, the man who helped Roger to his breakthrough as a member of Savoy Brown in 1967. Sadly, Kim passed away shortly after writing these songs in December 2022.
On their new album, FOGHAT also tip their hat to legendary artists who came before them, such as Willie Dixon, B.B. King or Chuck Berry, among others, with some great cover versions.

Fans of one of classic rock’s all-time great acts, FOGHAT, have a lot to look forward to this year, the 40th anniversary of FOGHAT’s Double Platinum album FOGHAT LIVE! To celebrate the occasion these veteran rockers are releasing ‘Live at the Belly Up’ yet another great live performance from last year’s show at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California. And for the 2017 tour these road warriors will be playing the entire 1977 LIVE album in their set to continue the party!
Always known for their dynamic live shows, a ‘live’ record is just what the doctor ordered to capture the onstage energy and sheer fun that these guys have on stage! Formed in 1971 in London, England, Foghat has amassed eight gold records, one platinum, and one double platinum record. They’ve scored hits with the songs “Slow Ride,” “Fool for the City,” a cover of “I Just Want to Make Love to You,” “Stone Blue” and “Third Time Lucky (First Time I Was a Fool),” all of which are still in regular rotation on classic rock radio.
2016 was a fantastic year for the band as their studio album UNDER THE INFLUENCE was released both on Vinyl and CD to great acclaim. And now, in 2017, fans of one of classic rock’s all-time great acts, Foghat, have not only a new live release to look forward to but also a very healthy and interesting tour schedule!
In anticipation of the June 30th physical release, Foghat is launching a campaign through PledgeMusic for fans to pre-order the CD along with exclusive “Foghat LIVE at The Belly Up” custom merchandise and experiences for purchase.
Recorded on August 11, 2016, ‘Live at the Belly Up’, opens with the one-two punch of “Fool For The City” and “Eight Days on the Road” and doesn’t let up until the last note of the raucous 10 minute, no-holds-barred set closer “Slow Ride.” The set list is a solid representation of the band’s body of work to date. Three tracks from “Under The Influence” make their live recording debut as well, “Under The Influence,” “Knock It Off,” and “Hot Mama.” According to lead singer Charlie Huhn, “The band just wants to make sure that after every show, fans are convinced they just got rocked, from the second we start the first song to the end of the show.” LIVE AT THE BELLY UP proves that Foghat is delivering on that commitment.
