– Hi Matt, welcome to MSFinland, I’m Tarja. The Easter’s just passed, was it for you relax or work?
It was work really … well gigs. Are gigs work? Sometimes I guess. It was good.
– Your band name Furyon seems to be a combi of “Fury” and “on”, so you’re always angry and furious? lol … or what is the origins of this name choice?
Not so angry really. Furyon is a warrior name, we thought it was good. To represent strength and honour.

Furyon are a Rock/Metal band from Brighton UK they were raised on classic rock, prog rock & heavy metal to bring you a unique Furyon sound. They are dedicated to one sole purpose that is making hard hitting songs that will stand the test of time. I must say they are well on the road to do that. Furyon have been in numerous Magazines over the years with really good feedback on what the fans and the Magazines staff have seen and heard. The band’s reputation while they were on the road has been huge due to their devastating stage performances at the UK Rock and Metal Festivals such as Bloodstock, Hammerfest and Hard Rock Hell. Then it all came together as they signed a deal with Germanys Rock n Growl Management Company. In 2012 Frontier Records was excited to announce the Worldwide release of Their Debut Album “Gravitas” they have also joined Factory Music to help them with booking and promoting the band on a bigger scale.
First track is Disappear Again on the album “Gravitas” starts off with a little intro riff but then punches into a heavy riff with some really catchy vocals with an well executed solo within. Which makes it a great start to the album. This sort of felling carry’s on throughout the whole album. Stand Like Stone has a lovely bass solo in the start with some melodic guitars working alongside it the vocals are clean but perfectly executed as well the guitars and a superb solo near the end. Souvenirs has great riffs strong catchy vocals but very melodic sounding guitars and a screaming solo. Don’t Follow has a catchy intro riff again with an infectious chorus with great riffs and a quality solo. News ways of living has some screaming and technical guitar’s solos with great riffs that slow down into some real class vocals. Voodoo me again some punchy vocals some heavy guitar riffs then again some really well done solos. Fear Alone heavy drum beat again with some great riffs, and soaring vocals, with an awesome solo making it just perfect. Wasted On You has a catchy intro riff that carry’s on through the song with the quality vocals and a shredding solo within. Our Peace Someday a slow clean guitar sound to start going into a lovely riff then a slow but clean soaring vocals i would say this is a very good ballad really worked well into the album. This is one my favourites on the album with a solo to bring a lump in your throat with how it has been well executed & at the end a well done run down. Desert Suicide another slow start with slow but clear vocals but then getting hit with hard but short riffs between the vocals then going into a melodic riff then to slow down again with real quality vocals. It is the longest song on the album in 8.28 minutes but it has a stunning solo that works really well into the song the vocals are spot on. It maybe a long song but it has everything you need to keep u interested. At the end it was nice to have a couple of Acoustic songs as a bonus it just shows how versatile they are. The band can be transform from hard hitting to soft & relaxing which really works well for me as i do love to hear Acoustic songs.
Influences for this band are Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Mastodon, Alice In Chains, Alter Bridge & Porcupine Tree. But myself I can hear in the music bands like Shinedown, Soil, Buckcherry and loads of different bands in which would take to much time to write.
Overall this band has what it takes to go a long way with their soaring infectious vocals, great catchy melodic riffs and screaming solos. These are a technically superb band. That has made probably the best album I have heard so far this year. Which I would recommend everywhere I go.
