“The biggest problem that art has nowadays is that it doesn’t hurt anymore,” says GHØSTKID vocalist and agent provocateur Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler. “Especially here in Germany, people are so afraid to push boundaries. To make art that makes you think and feel.”
As fall 2021 unfolded and the global shutdown appeared to recede, Sushi refused to allow his creative drive to stagnate within the confines of his German home. “Even though we had made it through Covid, I was missing being able to play live, to really function as a band,” says Sushi. “It didn’t feel real to me. I became distanced from the music.”
Embarking on a six-week journey to Los Angeles, he found the fuel to propel GHØSTKID forward. Amidst the remnants of Hollywood’s past allure – its fading glamour, lingering decadence, and the vibrant pulse of creativity saturating the city – Sushi discovered the catalyst for “HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE”, drawing inspiration from a “don’t-look-before-you-leap” ethos.
The resulting album serves as a candid snapshot of an artist in search of self-discovery, navigating through personal turmoil amidst the mythic landscape of California. “That’s why ’HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE’ is the first track. If you really want to make it, you have to give a lot. You have to be willing to give up everything. It’s kind of like suicide to the person that you’ve been when you become an artist.”
Complementing the music is the intricate artwork, meticulously crafted by Aly Wayne Gacy, adding a visual dimension to GHØSTKID’s sonic narrative.
“MURDER” feat. Code:Pandorum was released last Wednesday and is the newest single from GHØSTKID’s upcoming album, “HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE” out March 22nd.

GHØSTKID are excited to unveil a brand new track, “HEAVY RAIN”. The accompanying video deals with the sensitive topic of domestic violence which may be triggering for some viewers.
GHØSTKID comments: ”’Heavy Rain’ was written during a time when I felt utterly miserable… Even if the story of the song is written from the perspective of two lovers who are in a relationship it represents so much more. It is based on experiences that I have made over the past years and sadly I believe a lot of people can relate to them.
It is hard to find good people who really respect and love you the way you are. You should always be aware of people that abuse you just to make them feel superior. At some point you learn to deal with the pain, slowly it becomes a part of you – until the person you used to be no longer exists.
‘Heavy Rain’ describes the feeling of losing yourself under abuse and manipulation by a loved one. It is for everybody out there who had to to go through similar feelings. Try to stay strong and break the cycle. Search for help and do not let yourself down.
You are a good and valuable person and no one can take this away from you.
You are not alone! This song is for you.“

Just recently, GHØSTKID gave fans a new standalone single, ahead of their SOLD-OUT European trek supporting Bad Omens that kicks off this week. Listen to “HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE” now here.
GHØSTKID founder Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler comments: “
Being an artist always means to give everything you have and go beyond your limits, to become successful – and the life that you live is controlled by that dream. You’re driven by the motivation to let it become reality, and at a certain point, you have to face a lot of obstacles, temptations; you can easily get lost if you don’t keep yourself focused on passion and identity. Being in the showbusiness is like swimming in a tank full of sharks and surviving…
‘HOLLYWOOD SUICIDE’ describes the state of mind to dedicate your whole life to your dream and your art – you metaphorically kill yourself, for something that starts as an idea in your mind. Work hard, play hard – this is Hollywood suicide.”
“Ugly… people are ugly because society only accepts you if you fit into the mold and they will always try to shape you if you don‘t fit the standard”, says GHØSTKID about the brand new track “Ugly” that is now available on all digital platforms.
The band comments:
“Nowadays it‘s hard to be different… and it‘s even harder to feel happy and free. People will always try to shape you in order to make them feel superior but nobody can tell you what is wrong and what is right when it comes down to your own individuality. This track is dealing with the struggle of being an outsider. You‘ll always be manipulated by others, you will never be accepted the way you are, so just don‘t give a f**k and never let them change you…”
The visualizer video that is going along with the release was created by GHØSTKID himself and is visible HERE.
