GORGOROTH Parts Ways With Singer

Norwegian black metallers GORGOROTH have issued the following update:

“Out of respect for and loyalty to GORGOROTH‘s audience and collaborators, Infernus [guitar] has kicked Pest [vocals] out of the band, effective immediately. This after Pest informed the band that he would not be prioritizing doing the upcoming Latin American tour after all, just two weeks before the band was set to depart for Brazil.

“Infernus has decided that the tour will go on as planned, though, and Hoest of TAAKE will replace Pest as vocalist on the tour starting on September 7th.

“As for the next GORGOROTH studio album, ‘Instinctus Bestalis’, vocal duties will be handled by a Serbian Satanist known as Atterigner, of the band TRIUMFALL (Forces of Satan Records).”

GORGOROTH‘s upcoming tour in September has been extended to also include dates in Central America.

On the Brazil leg of the tour — the Setembro Negro Festival 2012 — GORGOROTH will be joined by KEEP OF KALESSIN. Two of these concerts will also see GORGOROTH co-headlining with AUTOPSY. After this, the tour will continue through Colombia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Guatemala, with local support.

Former GORGOROTH Frontman Stars In ‘Flukt’ Movie; Trailer Available

Former GORGOROTH/GOD SEED frontman Gaahl (real name: Kristian Eivind Espedal) stars in a new Norwegian film called “Flukt” (English: “Escape”). An action picture set in the remote Norwegian countryside during the 1300s, it was helmed by “Cold Prey” director Roar Uthaug and features Norwegian actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal in the role of the leader of a group of outlaws living in the mountains.

Synopsis: “The film takes place in the year 1363. Black Death has killed half the population. Many travel from death and misery in search of a better life elsewhere. But the country is sparsely populated, and in the mountains, raging outlaw gangs and a life is worth little.”

Uthaug said, “‘Escape’ should be a grand adventure that takes us back to a time that is little described in the Norwegian film. It should be an epic rollercoaster ride of a thriller.”

“Flukt” is scheduled to premiere on September 28. Check out a trailer below.

GORGOROTH’s ‘Under The Sign Of Hell 2011’ To Be Made Available During European Tour

“Under The Sign Of Hell 2011”, the re-recording of GORGOROTH‘s third album, has now finally been pressed and CD will be sold at the merchandise booth during the band’s upcoming European tour. The group has only a limited amount of CDs available for sale so they will only be available for purchase while stocks last. A physical CD release date will be announced once details have been provided by Regain Records.

On “Under The Sign Of Hell 2011”, Pest and Infernus repeat their roles as vocalist and guitarist/bassist, respectively, from the original 1996 recording, while Tomas Asklund handles the drums.

The track listing is as follows:

Swedish Black Metallers VALKYRJA will team up with Gorgoroth and Vader for a full European tour in November this year.

Comments the band: “After last year’s crusade under the banner of Massive Music alongside Marduk and Ragnarök, we feel yet again honored to collaborate with Massive Music on this year’s “Under the Sign of Hell Tour” to contaminate Europe in even greater extent, this time with Vader and Gorgoroth. This will also mark the final step of the “Contamination” album before we’ll draw back to set our focus on the future.”

GORGOROTH: ‘Under The Sign Of Hell 2011’ Delayed Due To ‘Financial’ Issues

Because of Regain Records‘ current financial situation, it will once again be necessary for the label to postpone the release of “Under The Sign Of Hell 2011”, the re-recording of GORGOROTH‘s third album. According to GORGOROTH, “The master tapes were handed over to Regain by the band in April this year, and so it is, of course, very disappointing for the band that the label for the second time is not able to meet the set release date. Therefore, to avoid this happening again, no new release date will be given by the band until Regain can sort out their problems and provide a new date with 100% certainty.”
