Cinematic metal icons DARK SARAH will release their new epos Grim in about two weeks on July 17, 2020 via Napalm Records. To lift some of the suspense, they have just released a third stunning single, “Illuminate”, along with a perfectly fitting music video, drawing the listener even deeper into their fairytale-like storyline of magical orbs and otherworldly magic.

Bursting with the tremendous energy of their music, DARK SARAH‘s cinematic metal hymn, “Illuminate”, quickly expands into a mighty summoning, enfolding its pure power in the spellbinding chorus that will send shivers down the listener’s spine.

Heidi Parviainen states:
””Illuminate” is the name of the second ’orb’ that the protagonist Luna finds. It is a magical purple orb to summon the powers of wind and the moon. Luna asks the moon to illuminate her and to revive her magic powers to fight against the darkness upon the city of Grim.”

DARK SARAH continue the storyline of Orbs, Mörk and mystical, rabbit-headed people with their second single, “All Ears!”, of off their upcoming album, Grim, to be released on July 17, 2020 via Napalm Records.

The marching rhythm of the horror-esque intro rises to an all-encompassing theme that coalesces with Heidi’s blandishing vocals and the frightening story of Grim. The official music video (directed by Markus Nieminen) and the energetic soundscapes draw its listener deeper into DARK SARAH’s magical horror fantasy world, while the story behind “All Ears!” is perfectly visualized: The protagonist Luna casts a compelling spell over the citizens of Grim. As mighty as no one could have imagined, she rises, forming an army marching against their conjoint enemy – Mörk.

“”All Ears!” is a call to unite all the people who think there is a certain power behind tales, monsters and magic! Join the coven!
The narrative of “All Ears!” follows the storyline of the Grim album. A powerful spell on the citizens of Grim empowers the protagonist Luna to fight against the evil monster Mörk who is terrorizing the city. The listener can also get a first glimpse of our new guest Jasse Jatala as Mörk. The whole Grim story will be released as a book at the same time as our album, so that our fans can get even more immersed in the story.”

This first single off their upcoming album, Grim, to be released on July 17th, 2020 via Napalm Records, draws its listener into a magical horror fantasy world and gives a first sneak peek off their sophisticated full-length’ fabled story.

Heidi’s vigorous, yet melancholic soprano-like voice suffuses the rough soundscapes and merges with an irresistable narrative. With the help of a blue orb, the protagonist of the song, Luna, gains the magical power to see her past, helping her to reflect all occurrences and unveil the truth of why her heart had been frozen.

Heidi Parviainen states:
“Melancholia” is a dark (and maybe the saddest) song on Grim, yet it is also very powerful. In my opinion, it also contains the most beautiful guitar solo of the album. “Melancholia” is the name of a blue orb which provides magical powers to the protagonist Luna. In the song, Luna sees into her past through the orb and learns what has happened to her. She lives through her longings and loneliness once again.”
