US epic power metal legends OMEN are set to release their highly anticipated album “Hammer Damage” worldwide on May 31st, via DSN Music! Today the band announces the release of the limited edition of “Hammer Damage” on vinyl:

The release date of the OMEN album “Hammer Damage“ on limited vinyl is June 24th, 2016. The pre-order phase will start on June 10th, 2016 in Pure Steel Records webshop.

Pure Steel Records states:

“With the signing of US Metal legend OMEN, an old dream of ours has come true. For us, at Pure Steel Records, classic albums like “Battle Cry” and “Warning of Danger” are historical contributions to the metal world. With a striking release entitled “Hammer Damage”, the first studio album since “Eternal Black Dawn” (2003), OMEN is back in the saddle and means serious business. The new album was mixed by Kenny Powell and mastered by QuSound Studio/Michael Kusch.

When listening to epic and catchy power hymns such as “Hammer Damage” (the incisive title track) or the hard pounding “Cry Havoc” or the masculine pathos “Hellas”, fans of the Californian quartet will completely go crazy. Already active in OMEN between 1998 and 2009, Kevin Goocher (also Phantom X), with his raspy voice, will often remind you of the late J.D. Kimball, while guitarist Kenny Powell, also part of the 2016 lineup, has obviously not lost any of the striking guitar skills he displayed during Omen’s glorious early days.

With “Hammer Damage”, OMEN clearly show that they are ready to reclaim their throne as masters of unadulterated US Metal. After the CD release in May 2016 follows the album “Hammer Damage” in a limited edition of 100 blue and 400 black copies with insert.”

US epic power metal legends OMEN are set to release their highly anticipated album “Hammer Damage” worldwide on May 31st, via DSN Music!

“Hammer Damage” is a tribute to original singer J.D.Kimball, features Kevin Goocher on vocals, Andy Hass on bass and the return of original drummer Steve Wittig. DSN Music will release the album worldwide Tuesday May 31st, which will compliment a global tour, which will be announced soon following the group’s recent signing with Alpha Omega Management.

“Hammer Damage” makes it’s global broadcast debut over RockRadio KDKT, with the legendary Madd Maxx Hammer this week, who said “Everyone at DSN is pumped to finally get this record out to the masses.”

“Hammer Damage” will be available for online and mobile downloads via outlets such as iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, Spotify, Rhapsody, iHeartRadio, and hundreds more worldwide!

OMEN – formed in Los Angeles, California in 1983 by guitarist Kenny Powell – released their debut album “Battle Cry” in 1984, the song “The Axe Man” featured on the soundtrack for the Heavy Metal themed 2009 video game Brütal Legend (in 2009). Their 2nd release “Warning of Danger” (1985) established the band as one of the forefathers of Power Metal. In 1986 was released “The Curse” which spent several months on the “Burn!” charts in Japan. Later that year came out “Nightmares”. With new singer Coburn Pharr (later with Annihilator) the band released “Escape To Nowhere” in 1988, a milestone for the band that garnered their first U.S. radio single “Thorn in Your Flesh”. In 1996 the band was back again with “Reopening the Gates” (featuring Powell’s son Greg on vocals) and toured for the first time in Europe (with Fates Warning), opening the door for what has become one of the bands main stays, playing sold out shows “across the pond”. In 2003 original singer J.D. Kimball passed away after a long battle with cancer. Powell vowed to carry on the legacy of the original Omen sound and brought in singer Kevin Goocher for “Eternal Black Dawn” a definite throw back to the early sound of the band.
