Italy and Northern Europe are united through music.

In this era of globalization, thanks to various social Networks, also the distances are “dissapeared”. The persons, coming from different cultural backgrounds, throughout the world, are able to work together towards common goals, such as Heading To North- Project (www.headingtonorth.tk), the aim is to bring awareness of the culture of the Nordic countries, languages and traditions, myths and legends, using the music as medium. Italian Cultural Institute of Finland has granted their sponsorship to this project.

Heading To North is innovative! Cooperation is effective and virtual … bands from different countries meet each other online, and decide together what cultural themes will be handled and what tunes will be used, in this year has been chosen “The Kalevala”. (The Kalevala is a Finnish epic poem, composed by Elias Lönnrot in the mid-nineteenth century, based on poems and folk songs of Finland).

In these months all the bands are prepairing their songs, which will be added into the “Northern Spirit” CD, released still by the end of this year. (Please see the CD-cover here inclosed).
