Calgary-based post-black metal outfit NUMENOREAN have announced an Eastern US tour. The tour, their first-ever US dates begins on Sept 8 in Chicago with GHOST BATH.  A full list of confirmed tour dates can be found below.

NUMENOREAN are touring in support of their forthcoming debut full-length ‘Home’. The album, hailed as “fluidity, power, and grace, moving with furious speed to gorgeous melodic climaxes that somehow feel both unexpected as a car crash and inevitable as a sunrise.” (Stereogum) will be released worldwide by Season of Mist on July 22. Pre-orders for ‘Home’ are available across multiple formats at the Season of Mist E-Shop.

NUMENOREAN are streaming “Thirst”, the second new track off ‘Home’. The track is streaming now exclusively at Stereogum. The band previously streamed the title track off ‘Home’ at at Decibel Magazine, accompanied by an interview with the band detailing the album’s concept.

Regarding the album, NUMENOREAN comment:

“The title track ‘Home’, along with most of the album, sounds like the darkest and most heart wrenching parts of Lifelover, Deafheaven and Hypothermia, mixed with the progressive atmospheric metal of Enslaved and Agalloch. All of this thrown into a melting pot with complete vocal vulnerability has created something we never thought possible. This title track is a very essential starting point and glimpse into the entirety of emotional ups and downs this album has to offer over the course of its 44 minute journey into the abyss.”

Calgary-based post-black metal outfit NUMENOREAN have unveiled new album details. The band are slated to release their debut full-length titled ‘Home’ via Season of Mist worldwide on July 22. Citing influences from genre stalwarts AGALLOCH, LIFELOVER, HYPOTHERMIA and LANTLOS, NUMENOREAN twist post black metal into a melancholic and oppressive sound they can call their own.

Regarding the album, NUMENOREAN comment:

“The album (Home) is an exploration and journey into some of the deepest human emotions we have. While it does offer hope and solace along the way, it ultimately never recovers.”

‘Home’ was recorded by NUMENOREAN vocalist/guitarist Byron Lemley and Alex Kurth in Calgary, and mix/mastered by Josh Schroeder at Random Awesome studios (GHOST BATH, BATTLECROSS, KING 810 and more) in Michigan.

About the album, engineer Josh Schroeder comments:
“Numenorean’s sound reminds me of a dark, distant memory of falling from a great height. I’m always looking to challenge the way I approach records, and no better way than to work with artists like Numenorean who are challenging the definition of black metal.”
