In their distinctive unhurried manner, clocking in at just under 7 minutes, and combining heavy doom and stoner riffs with a pinch of psychedelia, ‘End of Days’ is Hope Is a Lie at their darkest.

Finnish Hope Is a Lie’s second single ‘Suits’ features Amber Shadows on vocals – and she is not holding anything back! Driven forward by heavy guitar riffs, this industrial inspired song represents Hope Is a Lie in its most aggressive form. Lyrically the song focuses on what men in suits are good for, ending up with the simple conclusion that men in suits are best when dead.

Finnish Hope Is a Lie is slow, unhurried, and extremely bleak doom, post-metal, sludge, industrial and a pinch of grunge. While the music sounds like despair, and conveys bleak stories of a future without human relationships, if you lose all hope, you have nothing more to lose.

‘Dance’ is the first single from HIaL’s debut album. It’s a story of loss and longing, and about that last chance to find the connection once lost. Nonchalant and creeping, slow and heavy, mixing various vocal styles, this is the song that started Hope Is a Lie.
