ALPHA OMEGA Management has a pleasure to announce the signing of the Female Fronted Symphonic Metal act HYDRA, hailing from the beautiful Bavaria in Germany!
So far HYDRA have released 2 albums; the debut “Malachite Skies“ (2015) and “Solar Empire” (2016), featuring Henning Basse (Firewind / Mayan) among others. Now the band is working on their 3rd album, having the first ideas and demos are already in the pipeline. Since summer 2015 HYDRA have played a few dozen shows in 7 different countries in Europe. The band played festivals as well as club shows. Currently HYDRA are preparing a spectacular liveshow with LED lightning, Stroboscope light, different lasers and CO² throwers. The band is planning to bring the visual highlight on stages at the end of 2017.

Following the announcement that they’ll be supporting ETHEREAL at Northern Symphony Festival in Selby, German symphonic metallers HYDRA have confirmed an exclusive show to take place the night before Northern Symphony at Rock Zombie in Dudley on Friday 3rd April. Hydra was formed by Chris Diefenbach and Lisa Rieger in October 2013. The first ten songs, which primarily fall into the category of melodic metal, took shape within a matter of months. One thing was clear to both Lisa and Chris: this was song material with potential that simply had to be released. Both of the Regensburg musicians are old hands in the scene: Chris was a live guitarist for the band Burden on their 2011 Germany tour (to name one example) and Lisa has also seen many different corners of Germany with the symphonic metal band Terrateya and other musical projects.
The songs on the debut ‘Malachite Skies’ are characterised by deliberate contrasts: raw metal meets soft, orchestral arrangements evocative of fairy tales and enchanting melodies. In contrast to the majority of bands in the genre the focus is not a classically trained voice. Instead, Lisa integrates her lighter, ethereal soprano into the musical tapestry, giving the band its characteristic catchy melodies.
Thematically, ‘Malachite Skies’ betakes itself to diverse realms. The band moves between historical content such as the life of Cleopatra and the psychological context of the Milgram experiment, and even ventures into the realm of fantasy to visit the Palace of Tears. Added to this, the lyrics deliberately leave the listener the freedom to interpret and immerse themselves in the music in their own way.
Preparations for live shows have been going full throttle since summer 2014. The live set is ready and aspiring musicians have been found to perform HYDRA’s ‘Malachite Skies’ onstage. First dates for the ‘Malachite Skies’ tour have already been confirmed and can be found at www.hydraofficial.com under ‘live’.
Liverpool’s black metal legion ETHEREAL have been announced as the headliner for the Infernal Orchestra stage at Northern Symphony Festival. Bombarding audiences around the UK for over a decade, they have become one of the most prominent acts on the British black metal scene, showing no mercy as they unleash their unique, tactically executed brand of symphony metal.
Showcasing Ethereal‘s most focused, dynamic, and explosive work to date, Opus Aethereum advances beyond the sound of their past and demonstrates their scope and potential for the future. The album is aggressive, extreme, and ridden with urgency; the rhythms shift in an instant from inhuman speeds to slow, doom-laden passages. Dutch Symphonic Rockers WITHIN TEMPTATION, formed in 1996, have recently released their 6th studio album “Hydra”, including 11 tracks and featuring several guests: metalcore singer Howard Jones (ex-Killswitch Engage), rapper Xzibit, classical-crossover/symphonic metal vocalist Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish) and alternative rock singer Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum). The first single, “Paradise (What About Us?)”, was released on September 27, 2013, and featured Tarja Turunen as guest vocalist. The second single, “Dangerous”, was released on December 20, in which Howard Jones provided the male vocals.
