Swedish All-Girl Metal Band HYSTERICA To Release ‘The Art Of Metal’ In March

Swedish MANOWAR-inspired all-female metal band HYSTERICA will release its sophomore album, “The Art Of Metal”, on March 9 via Black Lodge. The CD was produced by Pontus Norgren (HAMMERFALL) and Marcus Jidell (EVERGREY).

According to a press release, “The Art Of Metal” sees HYSTERICA taking “a huge leap forward. They’ve developed tremendously since the debut, ‘Metalwar’, released in 2009. HYSTERICA is all about classic melodic doom and power metal, with keyboard, extreme vocals and grandiose choirs being added to the mix on this album.”

“HYSTERICA wanted to broaden their horizon with this release — they wanted to mix music with other art outputs. They came up with the idea of letting seven different artists interpret one song each, with the song being turned into an art object. Work has been done by a metal sculpturer, a horror cartoonist, a photographer, a writer, an oil painter and a tattoo artist. The artists were given carte blanche to do what they wanted. During 2011, four digital singles have been released, and with the release the artwork has been presented.”

HYSTERICA has toured Sweden and Russia, and has played at both clubs and big festivals like Sweden Rock and Hard Rock Hell (United Kingdom).

HYSTERICA gained notoriety after the release of its debut album, “Metalwar”, which was mixed by Peter Tägtgren (PAIN, HYPOCRISY).

HYSTERICA Continuing Work On Sophomore Album; London Show Announced

Swedish MANOWAR-inspired all-female metal band HYSTERICA will perform at Camden Underworld in London, England on November 19.

HYSTERICA is working on a new album titled “The Art Of Metal”. According to a press release, HYSTERICA is planning “something different and unique” for the upcoming CD by “unit[ing] the music with another form of art. The concept for the new album is as follows: By letting different artists interpret each song, a number of art pieces will be created. These will be presented together with each new album track.” Several singles will be made available digitally until the album’s release. The first single was “Force Of Metal”, released on April 11, followed by “Message From The Dark” (May 25), “Heels Of Steel” (June 28) and “Fighters Of The Century” (August 2).

“The Art Of Metal” is reportedly being mixed and mastered by Pontus Norgren (HAMMERFALL) and Marcus Jidell (EVERGREY).

Hysterica Planning ‘Special Concept’ For Next Album

Swedish MANOWAR-inspired all-female metal band HYSTERICA, which recently completed a short run of dates in Russia with FRANTIC AMBER, is working on a new album titled “The Art Of Metal”. According to a press release, HYSTERICA is planning “something different and unique” for the upcoming CD by “unit[ing] the music with another form of art. The concept for the new album is as follows: By letting different artists interpret each song, a number of art pieces will be created. These will be presented together with each new album track. One single will be released digitally each month until this fall when the album will be released in its entirety.”

The art object for the first single “Force Of Metal” — a magnificent metal sculpture made by Bo Andersson — has just been uncovered at a pre-release party, and the sculpture will be shown at a gallery this coming week until the single is released digitally on April 11.

Swedish All-Female Metal Bands Hysterica And Frantic Amber Announce Russian Tour

Two Swedish all-female metal bands — HYSTERICA and FRANTIC AMBER — will team up for a Russian tour in early March. The four-date trek will include a stop at the biggest Russian female voice festival Zheleznye Devy (Iron Maiden), which will celebrate its fifth anniversary this year.
