I AM I are playing an Acoustic show at Bloodstock as well as their main stage show on Saturday 11th.
They play the Main stage at 12 noon then will be at the signing tent from 1.30 until 2pm doing a signing session, and will then be back at 7pm on the Jager stage for a half hour accoustic show. This is going to be one crazy busy day for the band but they’re really stoked about doing it and can’t wait to play!
Make sure you catch them at both shows to see just how truly great these guys are, with or without power!
HARD ROCK HELL slot now confirmed!
We are also delighted to announce that I AM I have now been confirmed to play Saturday evening, 1st December at HARD ROCK HELL.
With things really starting to take off for I AM I, you can expect another storming performance from them at this fantastic festival in the heart of Wales as they rock out hard enough to keep any winter chills at bay!
I AM I, the new band led by former DRAGONFORCE singer ZP Theart has announced the addition of drummer Phil Martini (DOWN ‘N’ OUTZ, TOKYO DRAGONS, THE QUIREBOYS) to the group’s ranks.
With things really starting to build momentum after the release of their debut album, “Event Horizon”, the members of I AM I found themselves in need of a professional, talented drummer with the same desire, humour and passion for their music as they had, and it didn’t take long before they found themselves the ideal man.
Following a chance meeting at a CLAYTOWN TROUPE gig, ZP and Phil found they got along famously and once Phil had heard the album, he was in!
Commented ZP Theart: “We hadn’t even started to look for a drummer yet but the first time I saw Phil playing, I knew he was the man for us. He’s a great guy, really easy to work with and fitted straight into the band at first practice, and we’re stoked he’s now part of the I AM I team.”
As previously reported, I AM I recently signed a worldwide publishing deal through Sony/ATV Music. Their deal, via Albam Songs, means they join a roster that includes Bob Dylan, THE BEATLES, Robert Plant, PEARL JAM, BON JOVI and Lady Gaga.
“I AM I are an incredibly exciting band. It’s great to be involved from the very beginning,” says Alan Bambrough of Sony/ATV Music Publishing Limited. “‘Event Horizon’ is a brilliant album and there’s no limit to what these guys can achieve.”
I AM I‘s next live appearance will take place on August 11 at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air festival at Catton Hall in Walton On Trent, Derbyshire, England.
I AM I made its live debut on May 27 at Birmingham, England’s O2 Academy 2.
I AM I released its debut album, “Event Horizon”, independently on May 26. Written and produced by Theart and Jacob Ziemba and mixed and mastered by Roland Grapow (HELLOWEEN, MASTERPLAN), the CD is described in a press release as “an absolutely blistering slice of heavy rock liberally infused with Theart‘s passion, energy and soaring vocals.”
“Event Horizon” was, according to I AM I, the first-ever heavy metal album to be released solely on USB. The stick is packaged in a CD case and includes full artwork and all the usual content you would expect on a disc and more. The effort is available to order from the official I AM Iweb site.

DRAGONFORCE parted ways with Theart in March 2010 “due to insurmountable differences of musical opinion,” according to a statement released by the British extreme epic power metal band.
After entries from thousands of hopefuls across the globe, DRAGONFORCE in March 2011 welcomed then-23-year-old Marc Hudson to the group.
According to Über Rock, guitarist Greg Pullin has left I AM I, the new band led by former DRAGONFORCE singer ZP Theart — less than four days after it was announced the group was parting ways with its drummer Paul Clarke Jr. for “personal reasons.”
Comments Pullin: “As a young musician, I was absolutely thrilled to be asked to join the band. As soon as I first heard their album in the days before the auditions I knew I loved the style of music, and since then have looked forward to performing and touring with the guys throughout the future. However, although I had a genuinely strong connection with everyone musically, and faced the opportunity with full commitment, I have decided to leave for personal reasons.
“I have enjoyed my time rehearsing and performing with the guys, and it has been particularly enjoyable to work with lead guitarist and composer Jacob [Ziemba]. As well as having a phenomenal ability as a guitar player, he demonstrates an outstanding capability to write brilliant music, which has undoubtedly been the major driving force behind the band’s style and sound on [I AM I‘s debut album] ‘Event Horizon’.”
In other news, I AM I has signed a worldwide publishing deal through Sony/ATV Music. Their deal, via Albam Songs, means they join a roster that includes Bob Dylan, THE BEATLES, Robert Plant, PEARL JAM, BON JOVI and Lady Gaga.

I AM I‘s debut album ‘Event Horizon’ was released independently on May 26th. Written and produced by Theart and Jacob Ziemba and mixed and mastered by Roland Grapow (Helloween/Masterplan), this album is an absolutely blistering slice of heavy rock liberally infused with Theart’s passion, energy and soaring vocals. ‘Event Horizon’ is the first heavy metal album to be released on USB packaged in a CD style case with full artwork, and can be bought from the Official I AM I website at http://www.iamiofficial.com. Also I AM I are now confirmed to play the main stage at Bloodstock this summer on Saturday 11th August. This is a fantastic opportunity for the band and the first time that they will be seen on a big stage so everyone’s really fired up about playing there. The band commented: “We are delighted to be appearing at this year’s Bloodstock, the UK’s premier Metal Festival and we can’t wait to see you all there. It’s going to be a very special show and we are completely stoked for it. Bring it on!”
The first song on the album is This Is My Life which is the first single off the Album Event Horizon, it starts off with some really drumbeats and a real quality guitar riff Zp’s voice seems well suited to this style of playing which is what he wanted. The guitars are solid all the way through the song and the drumbeat keeps it tight throughout. The solos are a joy to behold this is a great start to the album if the rest of the album is a good as this I am going to be a very happy man. The second song on the album is Silent Genocide this is also the bands second video it starts off with a cracking guitar riff which instantly gets my head nodding to the rhythm the vocals on this are absolutely brilliant it also has a very catchy chorus. The song has some brilliant soaring riffs and superb solo’s this is one of my favourites on the album. The next three songs on the album is Stay A While, Cross The Line and In The Air Tonight all these songs have some cracking riffs brilliant top class vocals, soaring solo’s, booming bass lines and pounding drumbeats just what you need in songs on an album of this quality. The sixth song on the album is King In Ruins it starts off with a slow cracking solo with a piano working in tandem with it the vocals comes in slow and meaningful this song has all the great characteristics of a brilliant ballad. This has some brilliant guitar solos in there, this is the only song so far on the album to give me goose bumps when I hear it. It is just a quality song. The next three songs are Kiss Of Judas, Dust 2 Dust and Wasted Wonders these three songs again have some fantastic vocals the guitar work is spot on. I cannot fault any of the songs they have all been well executed in all the forms whether it is the drums, bass, guitars or the vocals. The last song on the album is Pave The Way and this is a quality song to end the album. Its is full of quality galloping riffs, soaring solo’s and the vocals have been done to perfection and holding it altogether is the pounding drums keeping a quality beat.
Overall
Zp Theart has been out of the limelight for a year and he comes back with I AM I and I must say this is probably the best I have heard from him his vocals seem to have come back stronger than ever. He has put together a group of top class musicians and together they are I AM I fans of Dragonforce I will have to say he was brilliant with them but he is probably a better singer now without them. He now can put to the fans what he has been wanting to for along time and with this album he has got it right. This is one of my favourite albums of the year so far and I just cannot wait to see them at Bloodstock it is going to awesome.
