Tarja Turunen will perform a duet with Jyrki 69 from THE 69 EYES during the “Idols Tekee Hyvää” live TV broadcast on the Finnish channel MTV3 on Easter Sunday, April 24.

The proceeds of the event, which brings the popular American format “Idol Gives Back” to Finland for the first time, will be directed to education projects for children and teenagers in poverty-stricken countries such as Haiti and Cambodia.

Tarja‘s sophomore solo album, “What Lies Beneath” was released in North America on September 14 via The End Records. The CD’s first single, “Falling Awake” (featuring Jason Hook from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH), was released August 17 as a limited-edition seven-inch single through The Omega Order and available August 24 at all digital outlets . The track is backed with “The Good Die Young” — a song from the SCORPIONS‘ most recent album that features Tarja‘s vocals.

THE 69 EYES‘s latest album, “Back In Blood”, was issued in Europe (excluding Finland) on August 28, 2009 via Nuclear Blast Records (September 15, 2009 in the U.S. through The End Records). It was tracked with the Grammy-winning producer Matt Hyde (SLAYER, MONSTER MAGNET, FU MANCHU) and features a guest appearance by MONSTER MAGNET‘s Ed Mundell. The recording process took place both in Helsinki and Los Angeles.
