On December 12th, avant-death metal trio Imperial Triumphant will headline the “Jazz From Hell Festival” alongside the Goldstar Metropole Orchestra (big band). Fans can expect a special setlist comprised of songs across Imperial Triumphant‘s catalogue, making this a night to be remembered.
Steve Blanco (bass, keyboards) comments: “Imperial Triumphant drags the city’s underbelly into Le Poisson Rouge for Jazz From Hell — horns ablaze, brass dripping in decadence, a golden chaos where dissonance swings and the city trembles. This is Jazz from Hell dressed in gold and filth!”
This fall, Imperial Triumphant will also join Igorrr for a trek across Europe and the UK; see below for all dates!

Earlier this year, Imperial Triumphant released their sixth full-length, Goldstar, which has been hailed as “the band’s most accessible album to date” (Metal Injection).Goldstaris a long cool drag and as intense an urban fever dream as only the avant-death metal trio can deliver. As Knotfest writes, “Imperial Triumphant make extreme music high art.”

On March 21st, avant-death metal trio IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT will release their sixth full-length, “Goldstar”, via Century Media Records. Their most instant and evocative work to-date, “Goldstar” reins in their musical wanderlust with a newfound focus that the band has only hinted at with past works. For a preview of the record, the new single PLEASUREDOME (featuring the ominous spoken vocals of Tomas Haake, plus drumming legend Dave Lombardo) now be heard.
IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT comments: “Journey into sensuality and primal desire, where the flesh becomes a temple, and the hunt for passion unfolds like an ancient ritual. The ‘bell rings out,’ a summoning call to transcend ordinary pleasures and enter the Pleasuredome, a place where the divine and the animalistic merge.”

On March 21st, avant-death metal trio Imperial Triumphant will release their sixth full-length, Goldstar, via Century Media Records. Their most instant and evocative work to-date, Goldstar reins in their musical wanderlust with a newfound focus that the band has only hinted at with past works. Their latest single – “Lexington Delirium” (featuring the ominous spoken vocals of Tomas Haake) – is just one example of this heightened songwriting acumen, clocking in under 5 minutes, while retaining their trademark musical virtuosity in this homage to classic NYC architecture. Watch the video–filmed at the iconic Chrysler Building (a rare opportunity not given to many artists, especially the top floors!) and directed by Brendan McGowan–here:
Imperial Triumphant comments: “Ziggurats rise, skyscrapers weep, & the future is not birthed from the organic but from a cosmic, mechanical womb. It speaks of posterity lost in the congestion of New Culture, a place where Manhattan’s towering ambition conceals impending delirium. The Throne of Bolts becomes both a seat of power and a looming specter, begging for salvation from the soulless surge of progress. We climbed the deco spire of the magnificent Chrysler building in order to bring you a magnanimous visual experience.”
Steve Blanco (Bass, Keyboards) reflects: “Gazing at the building’s stainless steel Egyptian sun rays, I felt a profound connection to something greater, a deep resonance with the universe itself. Sharing that moment with my bandmates Zachary and Kenny and everyone involved made it all the more fabulous.”
With their upcoming release, Goldstar, the masked triumvirate Imperial Triumphant continues their exploration of the urban and arcane. The band has found inspiration in the sound of metal pushed to its darkest extremes, gilded, art deco temples, and looming cityscapes. Recorded in early 2024 with longtime collaborator and producer, Colin Marston (Gorguts, Krallice), as the final project recorded at Marston’s Menegroth Studios in Queens, the album was done in a breakneck five days. “As we recorded the final tracks, the experience felt like the universe was aligning,” the band observes. “Colin, who is basically a fourth member of the band to us, held space for this transformative moment, offering his incredible artistry and expertise, which only deepened the connection we had to the music. The sound that we captured in that sacred space was the crystallization of everything we’ve worked for, and the memories of those sessions will resonate within us for years to come. Music exists as a force beyond the infinite.”
With new single “Lexington Delirium” and the unveiling of Goldstar, the band reflects on what they’ve achieved – and what’s to come: “Imperial Triumphant’s upcoming album is a journey that feels both timeless and otherworldly, and we are beyond excited to share it with the world in 2025. The music we’ve created feels like it was born from a deeper, unseen realm, and we’re truly in love with every part of it. Our new video for ‘Lexington Delirium’ is a perfect reflection of that energy, filmed atop the majestic Chrysler Building. We’ve all admired its art deco beauty for years, and standing on top of such an iconic structure, surrounded by the clouds of Midtown, felt like stepping into a different age—an age of ambition and grandeur. Working with Brendan McGowen was an absolute pleasure, as his vision and creativity are greatly appreciated.”

Avantgarde metal trio IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT has released a new single with an accompanying video: “Hotel Sphinx”. Taken from their upcoming sixth full-length, Goldstar (set for a 2025 release via Century Media Records), “Hotel Sphinx” can be streamed now here; watch the video (directed by the band’s own Steve Blanco) below.
Imperial Triumphant comments: “The ‘Entertainer extraordinaire’ leads a gullible audience through the sinister halls of the ‘Hotel Sphinx’. Behind the lights, cameras, and endless action lies a disturbing undercurrent—where power is fed by the innocence of youth. The lines between entertainment, initiation, and exploitation blur as a conspiracy of silence reigns in the ‘Illuminated Valley of the Kings’, where political celebrity celebrates death. Rites of passage too dark to speak, promising false salvation in a world where the show never ends.”
Equally rooted in eclectic black metal, the most claustrophobic notions of free jazz, and the concept of urban cityscapes as canyons of horror, Imperial Triumphant’s signature sound has set a new standard for the possibilities of extreme music. Fans can expect Goldstar to continue down this sonic path next year, with media already hailing first single “Eye of Mars” as “chaotic, eerily-atmospheric” (Metal Injection). Stay tuned for more details to come soon…
IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT comments: “It is seen through the ages that universal truth rises to the top. With this in mind, leaders of civilization are divided in control methods deployed through various mechanisms, some for the sake of humanity and some for the sake of interests that don’t necessarily benefit humanity. The sum total of the entire apparatus then reaches a boiling point, after which time agendas are revealed. On a much higher level exists that which lies beyond the five senses, beyond the science and materialism matrix. Many sacred texts worthy of protection by the people have endured while existing in relative obscurity as allegory. The knowledge gets passed down through generational cycles and ultimately makes visible that collective connection in all the world and all of us. This lights up the consciousness with a venerable force like electricity and music. Under the watchful eye, Mars slew the dragon, and seizing its teeth out of the great gaping mouth, scattered them broadcast like seeds unto us.”
On May 3rd, New York’s IMPERIAL TRIUMPHANT is poised to release a revamped version of their 2018 album, “Vile Luxury,” remixed and remastered by long-time contributor Colin Marston (Krallice, Gorguts).
This rendition of the album, initially a benchmark for extreme music, represents a new perspective on the seminal record, often hailed as their most accessible. The redubbed video for “Swarming Opulence (Redux 1924)” provides a glimpse of this fresh approach.
“Swarming Opulence (Redux 1924)” is introduced as the first preview, offering a reinterpretation of the track that pushed Imperial Triumphant into the spotlight during the new roaring twenties. Steve Blanco (bass) reflects on the essence of the single, describing it as a exploration of dark intentions that drive individuals to commit heinous acts.
In conjunction with the album release, Imperial Triumphant collaborates with avant-garde artists, including House of Masks (AJ Good, Slipknot), Paleface & Company, Joshua Everetts, and Trash Bag Ghosts, to create the limited edition Masque of Mercury. This collection of highly collectible masks, presented in an extremely limited hand-numbered box, showcases the collaborative opulence of Imperial Triumphant and House of Masks.
Since 2018, Imperial Triumphant has carved out a unique sound, blending eclectic black metal, claustrophobic notions of free jazz, and urban cityscapes as canyons of horror. The band, known for tours alongside Behemoth, Zeal & Ardor, and Voivod, continues to push musical boundaries. Additionally, they digitally released a series of covers in 2023, receiving critical acclaim.
