INFERNO FESTIVAL NORWAY 2024 was once again another major success, filled with once-in-a-lifetime performances and enviable experiences only available to attendees! The epic four-day festival overtook several venues in Oslo during Easter weekend, bringing blasphemy and hellfire to the holiest of days. For those who missed it, we bring you a recap of some of the highlights as a reminder not to sleep on tickets for the 2025 edition, which will take place from April 17-20. Demand is so high that Early Bird tickets have already sold out entirely, but fret not as more will be made available soon at THIS LOCATION.
This year featured a stacked lineup of artists who ranged from iconic headliners to artists emerging from the underground, as well as a mixture of extreme metal such as Misþyrming and Saor, prog acts Cynic and The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, and even epic, esoteric acts such as Jo Quail. Among the highlights includes the once-in-a-lifetime set from Norway’s own Dimmu Borgir, who were joined by three former members: bassist/vocalist ICS Vortex, keyboardist Mustis, and drummer Tjodalv during “Spiritual Black Dimensions.” Fan filmed video of the legendary set can be found by Marko Vladilo of the band KRYN at THIS LOCATION.

While the performances will go down in history, they were not the only thing to behold this year! Many fans took home permanent souvenirs at the Inferno Tattoo Fair, blending pleasure with pain to serve as a reminder of their incredible experiences in Norway.
Others who partook in a very special field trip were treated to a very special tour of black metal history. Led by Anders Odden (Cadaver, Celtic Frost, Order), the Black Metal Bus Sightseeing Tour took attendees on a historic journey to the site of Helvete, the legendary record store once owned by late Mayhem founder Øystein “Euronymous” Aarseth, got a special photo opp at Langhus station, and visited the Holmenkollen Kapell church, which has been redone exactly as it was before the fire in 1992. This year, those who joined the tour were treated to a very special show-and-tell, where they were able to visit the basement of the chapel and see the original bell that survived the blasphemous blaze.

These photos only scratch the surface of the experiences Inferno has to offer as there was also a stunning art exhibition by some of metal and horror’s greatest artists, a special tour of the history of legendary painter Edvard Munch, skiing in the mountains, and of course, the Inferno Music Conference in which hundreds of music industry professional connected for interesting and educational panels while making new business connections.
Next year will be bigger, better, and not to be missed! So don’t let that FOMO hit you again and invest in what is certainly every metal head’s dream excursion by coming to the festival in 2025!
Be sure to stay tuned for the announcement of bands, special events and excursions, and more information on the Inferno Music Conference!
