IRON MAIDEN drummer Nicko McBrain will take part in a meet-and-greet at the Coral Springs, Florida location of School Of Rock on Thursday, November 8 between 7:45 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.. The young music students of School of Rock are presently in rehearsals for a “tribute to IRON MAIDEN” show and are looking forward to some first-hand advice from Nicko himself.
“Nicko is awesome for volunteering his time to mentor the kids,” says School Of Rock Coral Springs Music Director Andrew Musselman. “This is an opportunity that the kids will never forget.”
“Our house band has been working on a cover of IRON MAIDEN‘s ‘Aces High’,” says Christian Davis, Music Director at the School Of Rock West Broward. “It would be amazing if they got to rehearse it with Nicko.”
The performance-based music school, has decided to open their doors to the public for this one night, so that other kids in the community can meet Nicko and better understand the importance of music education. In lieu of an admission fee, School Of Rock will be accepting optional donations to the Rock School Fund. This fund will provide instruments and scholarship funding to cover tuition expenses based on a student’s financial need combined with their desire to actively and passionately participate in a rock school program.

The Rock School Fund is the first 501(c)3 non-profit to provide tuition and instruments to kids ages 7-17 who want to attend any rock music school in the USA.
CSA Celebrity Speakers — which represents speakers, including the world’s experts on leadership, strategy, innovation, marketing and Nobel prize winners — has posted a couple of showreels showcasing IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson‘s skills as a public speaker, featuring footage from his October 10 keynote speech at the IBM Smarter Business event at the Stockholm Waterfront Congress in Sweden.
Dickinson is the lead singer of IRON MAIDEN, a commercial pilot, business angel, entrepreneur, creative business thinker and international fencer. Bruce was a pilot and marketing director for Astraeus Airlines, which recently went into administration and is now in the process of leading them out of liquidation. In addition, Bruce has government funding to create an aircraft maintenance company creating 1500 jobs in Wales.
Bruce is involved in an air ship venture to manufacture lighter than air drones with a contract to supply the U.S. Army. He is also setting up a separate training company (Real World Aviation) to train future pilots.
Bruce left IRON MAIDEN in 1993 in order to pursue a solo career, his passion for fencing and an interest in becoming a pilot. Bruce rejoined the band in 1999 and has gone on to release four albums; despite this, he hasn’t stopped flying Boeing 757s.
Bruce is very keen to speak on his projects tying it in with business start-up, entrepreneurship and business creativity. In addition, he is willing to talk about the parallels between his music and business careers. He is also able to deliver team building experiences focused around his flight simulator.

The clip below features video footage of what has been certified by Guinness World Records as the largest collection of IRON MAIDEN memorabilia in the world. The collection was on display at the Swedish metal convention Rockmässan in Malmö, Sweden.
According to the Guinness World Records board, the largest collection of IRON MAIDEN memorabilia is 4,168 items and belongs to Rasmus Stavnsborg in Karlslunde, Denmark.
“Mr Stavnsborg began listening to Iron Maiden in 1981 at the age of 8, and began collecting the band’s memorabilia a couple of years later. He now has 4,168 individual items and houses most of them in his IRON MAIDEN Bar in his basement. He has been to see the band in concert all over the world, including shows in Japan, India, Russia, Peru and Dubai.”

The Maiden England tour continues into The Netherlands on June 25th at the new 17,000 capacity Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Tickets go on sale Saturday, October 27th at 10am CET with an exclusive first ticket pre-sale for Iron Maiden Fan Club members on Friday, October 26th 9am CET – 5pm CET.
Following the announcement of the Friends Arena show in Stockholm, a 50,000 capacity stadium which sold-out in record time, Maiden will now play another Swedish date, Malmö Stadium on July 10th. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 26th at 9am CET with an exclusive first ticket pre-sale for Iron Maiden Fan Club members on Wednesday, October 24th 9am CET – 6pm CET.

Thomas Zwijsen will release his album Nylon Maiden on January 8th. The album contains 11 unique arrangements of IRON MAIDEN tracks on classical guitar. Additional musicians on the album are Bayley,Anne Bakker (violin), Nathanael Taekema (drums), Tony Newton (VOODOO SIX, bass).
Zwijsen has worked closely with Bayley; as composer, co-producer and lead guitarist on Blaze’s most recent The King Of Metal album and tour and the following acoustic UK tour. He is, however, better known for his Nylon Maiden videos in which he displays his technical and tuneful abilities. The Nylon Maiden videos have had over 1.5 million views on YouTube.
