“Anatomy of a Wolf” is the second album from fiercely independent Nottingham four-piece JD & the FDCs.
Their debut album “Recognise” (2012) had a cavalcade of international guest stars (Dez Cadena from Black Flag, Lita from WWE, Acey Slade from Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and many others) whereas ‘ AOAW’ – their sophomore LP – focuses more on their own individual talents and makes for a much rawer, less glossy listen.
“Recognise is a Jag; Anatomy of a Wolf is Mad Max’s post-apocalyptic nightmare Interceptor, designed to make war and to survive, not to cosset.” Dave Ormston, Super Fan.
In a case of art imitating life, “Anatomy of a Wolf” takes the band down a much darker path with each song seemingly documenting a change in how the FDCs view life and it’s many struggles. They’ve been through the mill since we last saw them. So this is a record about survival.
