Internationally renowned guitarist and singer-songwriter, Joe Bonamassa plays three UK concerts this month, leading up to the release of his new studio album “Blues Of Desperation” which is released on Friday 25th March. The UK concerts include Birmingham Barclaycard Arena on Saturday 19 March, Bournemouth BIC on Sunday 20 March, and Plymouth Pavilions on Monday 21 March.
Joe Bonamassa’s love of the British Blues is at the heart of his musical inspiration; and, for the first time, is pleased to announce five special concerts paying homage to the British blues rock guitarists that inspired him – Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page – for UK fans in July 2016. This one-time only UK event will be billed as – JOE BONAMASSA IN CONCERT: A SALUTE TO THE BRITISH BLUES EXPLOSION.
“If it wasn’t for certain British musicians of the early 1960s, the Blues may well never have exploded into Rock music as we know it today, and indeed may have passed into history,” says Bonamassa.
Tickets for the UK concerts will be available as a special pre-sale from Tuesday 26th January 2016 from Planet Rock(www.planetrock.com), 72-hours in advance to the general public – which will go on sale Friday 29th January, 2016 fromwww.ticketmaster.co.uk and www.jbonamassa.com. The dates will feature two special concerts performed at heritage castles at Hoghton and Newark, a headline show at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, plus indoor shows in Glasgow and Bristol.
Bonamassa will play Hoghton Tower, Lancashire (Saturday 2 July), Glasgow Clyde Auditorium (Sunday 3 July), Bristol Colston Hall (Tuesday 5 July), Greenwich London Music Time Festival (Thursday 7 July), and Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire (Friday 8 July).
Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page are some of the greatest guitarists of their time that influenced Joe Bonamassa’s career. All three are Yardbirds alumni, and indeed actually all played together at one time in the same band. Jimmy Page went on to form Led Zeppelin, which became the ultimate electric Blues band and both Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck became international superstars in their own right.
Now, Blues superstar, Joe Bonamassa, will pay tribute to these legends of the British Blues, in a stunning live concert homage entitled JOE BONAMASSA IN CONCERT: A SALUTE TO THE BRITISH BLUES EXPLOSION. This is a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience not to be missed.

GRAMMY-nominated blues-rock guitar icon Joe Bonamassa announces today his brand-new studio solo album, “Blues Of Desperation” (Provogue), will be released March 25th, 2016. Like his previous solo disc, 2014’s Top 10 Billboard hit “Different Shades of Blue”, the new album features all-original material, and it sees the maverick superstar guitarist, singer and songwriter tossing away the rule book as he continues to reinvent and redefine the blues-rock genre like no other artist working today.
“I want people to hear my evolution as a blues-rock musician,” says Bonamassa, “somebody who isn’t resting on accomplishments and who is always pushing forward and thinking about how music can evolve and stay relevant.”
The writing sessions for “Blues Of Desperation” took Bonamassa back to Nashville, where he’d composed “Different Shades of Blue”, to work with some of Music City’s top tunesmiths, people like James House, Tom Hambridge, Jeffrey Steele, Jerry Flowers and Gary Nicholson. “These are some of the best guys in the business,” Bonamassa raves. “Lyrically, you’ll hear the proverbial trains, mountains, valleys and other blues references about heartbreak and loneliness, but there are also some poignant moments about getting away from the stressful, crazy demands of life and losing yourself with your special someone. I think anybody will be able to relate.”
Bonamassa and his long-time producer Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Journey) convened at Nashville’s Grand Victor Sound Studios (formerly known as RCA Studio A), and during an intense, five-day period they recorded 11 galvanizing songs with a crack group of musicians including drummers Anton Fig and Greg Morrow, bassist Michael Rhodes, keyboardist Reese Wynans, horn players Lee Thornburg, Paulie Cerra and Mark Douthit, and background singers Mahalia Barnes, Jade McRae and Juanita Tippins.
Following the recent announcement of Joe Bonamassa’s live DVD, Blu-ray and album, “Live At Radio City Music Hall”, and 2014’s critically acclaimed studio album “Different Shades of Blue”, the internationally renowned guitarist has re-scheduled his recently postponed Bournemouth BIC concert to Sunday 20 March 2016.
In addition to the re-scheduled Bournemouth BIC concert, Joe Bonamassa will perform two new dates – Birmingham Barclaycard Arena (Saturday 19 March) and Plymouth Pavilions (Monday 21 March). Tickets go on sale to the general public from the venues at 9am on Friday 13th November. Tickets will also be available online to purchase from http://www.jbonamassa.com, http://www.eventim.co.uk, http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk and http://www.seetickets.com.
Bonamassa will perform songs from his classic albums including ‘Sloe Gin’, ‘Dust Bowl’, ‘The Ballad of John Henry’, ‘Driving Towards The Daylight’ (the latter reached #2 in the Official UK Album Chart 2012), and his critically acclaimed 2014 album “Different Shades of Blue”.

Guitar legend Joe Bonamassa fulfils a promise that he made 10 years ago and performs a special UK concert, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of his first-ever UK show. On November 1st 2015, Joe will play Mr. Kyps in Poole, Dorset, the same venue where he played his first ever UK concert back in 2005.
In 2005, venue owner Mark Kyprianou (Kyp) was approached to host Joe’s first ever UK concert, As Joe was an unknown, the concert was a slow seller. In a final push, Kyp decided to offer free entry and refunds to those few who had originally paid the £10 ticket. Only around 100 people attended the concert, but those who were there were stunned by Joe’s dynamic and virtuosic playing. Today, 10 years later, Joe is playing concert arenas around the globe!
Kyp and Joe formed a lasting relationship over the years. Says Kyp, “I’m very excited to host this one of a kind concert. No major artist at the level Joe is would do this for his or her fans. Joe made me a promise he would return, and is a man of his word!”
The concert dovetails Joe Bonamassa’s 8-date October 2015 UK tour. Tickets are available from www.eventim.co.uk or 0844 493 6666. Read more information HERE.
