Former TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA Singer JOE CERISANO Releases Solo Album “Give Love (For Christmas)”

The most famous anonymous singer in America JOE CERISANO (TSO, Silver Condor) is the voice behind “Hands Across America” and some of the most iconic commercials–GE, Army, Navy, Sprite, Miller–you have ever heard. Cerisano started his career on Columbia Records with Silver Condor alongside guitarist Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon). He went on to do duets with Gloria Estefan and Placido Domingo as well as guest vocalist with Blue Öyster Cult and Korn; and fronted Trans-Siberian Orchestra. 

Joe Cerisano has put together a classic Christmas album with all your favorites plus some original compositions like “Give Love.” Give Love (For Christmas) features traditional Christmas songs with jazzy, upbeat arrangements and original compositions that put the Joe Cerisano spin on classic Christmas songs. For his version of “White Christmas,” Joe chose to include the often-omitted introduction verse to the song. Few people know that this verse exists, and it is a joy to see it be included. Nice treats are his version of the Brook Benton song “This Time of the Year (When Christmas Is Near),” and Joe’s version of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Joe has taken some production and arrangement hints from Paul O’Neill (rock producer, manager, and TSO founder) and blended it with his West Virginia roots to create a unique compilation of wonderful Christmas songs. As Joe states, “Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. The memories good and bittersweet revisit everyone’s heart. Yeah, I know the Santa Claus thing looms large, especially when you’re a kid, but Christmas brings back a flood memories to everyone and those are the songs [arranger and composer] Kinny Landrum [Leonard Bernstein, Carly Simon, Jimmy Cliff, etc.] and I chose to do. The title track, ‘Give Love (for Christmas),’ was written by my dear friends Lari White and Chuck Cannon, a husband and wife who teamed up and wrote a brilliant song that deserves to be the title track. Lari passed a few years ago, so the song means even more to me now. Bittersweet, yes, but life is that way. Merry Christmas.”

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Covers MARC BLATTE’s ‘When She Was My Girl’ on New Covers Album “The Distant Thunder”

Marc Blatte is an illustrious songwriter and music producer who has written songs for many well-known singers and bands (The Four Tops, Celine Dion, Kenny Rogers, Marie Osmond, etc…) . His music and words have also been heard in commercials for household names, including Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Pizza Hut, The United States Army, and Range Rover, to name a few. Marc’s favorite is the light-hearted, ubiquitous song for Goldfish, “I love the fishes ’cause they’re so delicious”.

Marc has recently teamed up with Trans-Siberian Orchestra vocalist Joe Cerisano as The Distant Thunder. Their debut album drops on 11/18, one week after Bruce Springsteen dropped his covers album which also features one of Marc’s songs, “When She Was My Girl”.  The song was originally written for the Four Tops and was a Top 40 hit, peaking at number 11 on the US Billboard Hot 100 , number 10 on the Cashbox chart, and reaching number one on the R&B charts in 1981.  

Cerisano started his career on Columbia Records with Silver Condor alongside guitarist Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon). He went on to do duets with Gloria Estefan and Plácido Domingo. He was guest vocalist with Blue Öyster Cult and Korn. Cerisano fronted Trans-Siberian Orchestra during the early years that led up to their massive worldwide appeal. Joe reflects back on that time, “Being one of the founding members of TSO was one of the best experiences of my career. From being on the first two albums to touring for four years and seeing it grow, from small theaters to Madison Square Garden was amazing. To be inside of that was something to behold. Paul O’Neill and Bob Kinkle, the creators, were geniuses on top of being my friends. Just watching them was a treat.”

The Distant Thunder album is out November 18. They strip it all down for a real rootsy American album filled with emotion and heart wrenching lyrics. You can hear the first two singles, “Healing Hand” and “I’d Rather Be Dancing,” now and pick up your advanced copy.
