The opening night of the 75th edition of the Sanremo Festival was lit up by a unique moment: Rockin’1000, The Biggest Rock Band on Earth, joined forces with Jovanotti for a performance that moved both the audience at the Ariston Theatre and viewers at home.
Rockin’1000 musicians and Jovanotti delivered an unforgettable rendition of “L’ombelico del mondo,” starting from Corso Matteotti in Sanremo. Fabio Zaffagnini, founder of the band that brought the Foo Fighters to Cesena in 2015, commented on the collaboration: “Collaborating with Lorenzo was an extraordinary experience. Jovanotti has always embodied the values we believe in: the power of music to bring people together. For ten years, we’ve been carrying this mission forward, involving musicians from around the world in unforgettable experiences.”
The night featured Jovanotti performing a medley of his most famous songs, including “L’ombelico del mondo,” accompanied by 140 Rockin’1000 musicians. The result was an explosion of energy that took the audience on a powerful, engaging musical journey. This meeting of one of Italy’s most beloved artists and the incredible force of Rockin’1000 resulted in a high-energy performance, symbolizing inclusivity, music, and shared passion.

Rockin’1000, known worldwide for its mass performances featuring 1000 musicians playing in unison at international stadiums, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
The performance in Sanremo marked another milestone in the history of this major music community, which continues to push the boundaries of live music.
2025 marks a significant milestone: ten years since the birth of Rockin’1000. From that first viral video filmed in Cesena in 2015 to invite the Foo Fighters, the project has grown into a global phenomenon, bringing 1000 musicians live to the biggest stadiums worldwide.
From Italy to France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, and Portugal, over the past decade, Rockin’1000 has organized more than 20 concerts in 10 different countries, selling over 500,000 tickets and engaging an international community of over 100,000 musicians from 160 countries. This success reflects the strength of the project’s vision, which believes in music as a universal language.
Looking to the future – The 10th anniversary is not only a moment to celebrate the past but also an opportunity to look ahead.
