Neuroteque, the place where everything is allowed, where everything takes the risk of becoming something else. Urban and science fiction scenarios overlap with bucolic and mystical incursions, sweet lullabies turn into screams, a stealthy step becomes a crazy ride.
On their upcoming, third album, the four-piece band JUGGERNAUT from Rome, Italy, deliver seven tracks as the seven different doors to enter Neuroteque: A lisergic menu of cinematic progressive, metallic psychedelia, mellow and disturbing atmospheres. This record holds seven stories of harmonic and emotional transformation, seven winding paths towards Neuroteque.
After the band’s second and critically acclaimed album, TRAMA!, released in 2014, JUGGERNAUT return with their most complex, powerful and strongly evocative instrumental record to date, and immerse in obscure and grotesque atmospheres. Today JUGGERNAUT is sharing a first track taken from their cinematic Sludge Metal masterpiece Neuroteque! Listen to Orbitalia, here:
Says the band “Neuroteque is a new step forward in the research and definition of the way we think music. It certainly picks up where “TRAMA!” left off, but new images and emotions shuffle the cards towards a more abstract, caleidoscopic and exciting trip. We are immensely proud and anxious to share our new studio work with everyone! ”
Set for a release on October 11st with Subsounds Records and coming on LP, CD and in Bundle + Digital formats, Neuroteque is now available to pre-order at THIS LOCATION!
PERIPHERY have shared a second song from the forthcoming “Juggernaut” albums with “The Bad Thing” taken from “Juggernaut: Omega”, set to be released in January, via Century Media. Check out “The Bad Thing” here:
Drummer Matt Halpern about the song: “This new song we’re releasing, “The Bad Thing”, is definitely one of my favorites from the Juggernaut story. It’s one of the first songs we wrote when we started working on Juggernaut, and it’s going to be a fun one to play live! It’s aggressive and pissed off, both musically AND literally, in terms of the lyrical content, and just hits hard right from the start. I want people to bob their heads and dig this one!”
Rather than release a conventional album, or even a double-album, the DC-based band has opted to release two albums simultaneously: “Juggernaut: Alpha” and “Juggernaut: Omega” that are out on the following dates via Century Media Records:
GERMANY / AUSTRIA / SWITZERLAND / FINLAND: Friday, January 23, 2015
UK / BENELUX / FRANCE / GREECE / DENMARK / PORTUGAL / NORWAY / REST OF EUROPE: Monday, January 26, 2015
ITALY / SPAIN / POLAND: Tuesday, January 27, 2015
SWEDEN: Wednesday, January 28, 2015
A Gatefold 2LP vinyl version of “Juggernaut: Alpha/Omega” will be available as well.
“Given the nature and complexity of the ‘Juggernaut’ story, we’ve actually done something different and exciting in regards to the release,” explained drummer Matt Halpern. “‘Juggernaut’ is a story that is told through our music, and we want our audience to fully digest the whole experience. Because ‘Juggernaut’ is very detailed and dense in terms of character development, peaks and valleys, climaxes and resolutions we’ve divided the story and music in two, in the form of two separate albums. ‘Juggernaut: Alpha’, the first part of the story, focuses on the back story and character development, while part two/album two, ‘Juggernaut: Omega’, focuses on some pretty serious and gut-wrenching events, taking you for a thrill ride along the main character’s complex journey.”
A series of webisodes documenting the recording process for the “Juggernaut” albums kicked off last week, with the first clip available now: youtu.be/FVmhX9wee8M
A new episode will land on December 10.
PERIPHERY will embark on extensive touring around the release of “Juggernaut”. First will be a five-week North American tour with support coming from Nothing More, Wovenwar and Thank You Scientist. Next on their agenda are Russia, a full European tour with Devin Townsend Project and Shining which leads to a PERIPHERY headlining show in London, UK, on April 1st.

PERIPHERY, the D.C. based prog outfit whose music Rolling Stone (US) described as “instrumentally vigorous” and whose members have graced the covers of Guitar World and Modern Drummer, release dual albums “Juggernaut: Alpha” and “Juggernaut: Omega”. “Juggernaut” will be out outside of North America, Australia/NZ and Japan via Century Media Records on January 26th, 2015.
“Given the nature and complexity of the ‘Juggernaut’ story, we’ve actually done something different and exciting in regards to the release,” explains drummer Matt Halpern. “’Juggernaut’ is a story that is told through our music, and we want our audience to fully digest the whole experience. Because ‘Juggernaut’ is very detailed and dense in terms of character development, peaks and valleys, climaxes and resolutions we’ve divided the story and music in two, in the form of two separate albums. ‘Juggernaut: Alpha’, the first part of the story, focuses on the back story and character development, while part two/album two, ‘Juggernaut: Omega’, focuses on some pretty serious and gut-wrenching events, taking you for a thrill ride along the main character’s complex journey. Although the albums are split in two physically, the story is only complete when the albums are digested consecutively, allowing the listener to recognize and hear the lyrical and musical overlapping themes, foreshadowing, and connected ideas.”
“This is new ground and it’s exciting,” band founder and guitarist Misha Mansoor says of the band’s approach to writing and recording ‘Juggernaut’, which saw all six members work collectively for the first time in PERIPHERY’s history. “It’s a way to shake things up. Everyone contributed to everything, even if it wasn’t his instrument. It wasn’t about confrontation. Everyone was focused on creating a really cool album.”
Misha Mansoor on going to Russia: “We are very excited to finally play Russia! We have heard so many amazing things about the shows and fans supporting us there and we can’t wait to rock out with them at the shows.” And on headlining in London he has the following to say: “It has been too long London, you are one of our favorite cities to play ever. We couldn’t come to Europe and miss you guys so we are stoked to be coming back finally! See you there.”

Comments Century Media Records: “You wonder what this means for a release of “Juggernaut”? The only thing we can safely say is: Keep your eyes peeled for more news soon.”
Former JUGGERNAUT vocalist Harlan Glenn, who appeared on the band’s cult classic “Baptism Under Fire” debut album, has just released a brand new book as the co-author of “Kampfraum Arnheim: A Photo Study Of The German Soldier Fighting In And Around Arnhem September 1944” via RZM Publishing.
“Kampfraum Arnheim” (Battle Zone Arnhem), is a unique in-depth photographic documentation of the German ground forces which opposed the Allied Airborne landings in Holland in September 1944. Their response to this Anglo-American offensive, code-named “Operation Market-Garden,” was chronicled by eight German war correspondents whose 16 rolls of film are the primary focus of this publication. The material was acquired exclusively from the German Federal Archives and depicts Heer, Luftwaffe and Waffen-SS troops in action at Arnhem, Nijmegen, Mook and Oosterbeek.
A respected author of several books on militaria and military history as well as an actor in and historical consultant for various war-themed feature films and television documentries, Harlan Glenn was born in Tripoli, Libya and lived on Okinawa Japan, and Oahu, Hawaii before settling down in San Antonio, Texas with his family. An avid fan of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, Glenn got involved in the thriving Texas metal scene of the early 1980s and became the controversial frontman for San Antonio upstarts JUGGERNAUT. The band would contribute a demo track, “In The Blood Of Virgins”, to Metal Blade‘s “Metal Massacre VII” compilation before being picked up by the label for a full-album deal, issuing two albums in the process, “Baptism Under Fire” (1986) — reissued on CD by Germany’s High Vaultage label in 1998 — and “Trouble Within” (1988).
Glenn left JUGGERNAUT in 1987 for Los Angeles, California where he fronted locals BON APPETIT before turning his attention to acting work and writing. His first book was 1999’s “For King And Country: British Airborne Uniforms, Insignia & Equipment In World War II”.
