Just in time for their Summer Breeze Open Air show, KANONENFIEBER release the single “Z-Vor!” with a striking lyric video. The song opens the upcoming compilation “Soldatenschicksale” (“Soldiers’ Fates”), out 30 January 2026 via Century Media Records, which revisits battles of the First World War through the eyes of individual soldiers.
KANONENFIEBER, created by Noise in 2020, draws inspiration from his great-grandfather’s war diary, turning historical accounts into authentic, intense music. The band keeps members anonymous, paying tribute to all fallen soldiers.
In March 2026, KANONENFIEBER embark on the Soldatenschicksale Tour, featuring exhibitions and immersive historical experiences at shows.
“The pioneers of mine warfare worked 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week. The so-called ‘moles’ had to deal with limited oxygen supply, water ingress and burial. The low tunnels caused back problems, open knees and hands and trench foot disease. Miners who worked for long often suffered from mental illnesses and panic attacks”, says Noise from KANONENFIEBER.
Watch a video of their striking live performance of the song “Der Maulwurf“ that was captured during the band’s biggest headlining show to date here:
As the previously released “Sturmtrupp” the video is taken from the Blu-ray that is released with the Ltd. CD+Blu-ray Digipak of “Live in Oberhausen”.
“Live in Oberhausen”, the second live album from KANONENFIEBER, was recorded in Oberhausen, Germany. 1,800 fans filled the sold-out Turbinenhalle II and took part in a special night during the tour supporting “Die Urkatastrophe”. A total of sixteen out of the twenty European shows were sold out months prior to the start of the tour. This set another milestone for the band, who played their first live show just 2.5 years earlier.
The setlist included popular songs from their debut album “Menschenmühle” and their subsequent EPs as well as eight tracks from “Die Urkatastrophe”. Upon its release the album entered the following charts: Germany #3, Germany vinyl charts #5, Austria #13, Finland physical charts #8.
Live in Oberhausen” is out in the following formats as of April 25th, 2025 with the physical ones following in the US on May 30th.
KANONENFIEBER released their first album, “Menschenmühle”, in 2021. Since then, the band has played several highly successful tours. Their elaborate and dramatic live shows stunned crowds at renowned festivals such as Hellfest, Summer Breeze, Rockharz, Full Force or Party.San, leaving them shaken and speechless.
KANONENFIEBER is the brainchild of Noise, who writes and records all of their music. For live shows, he is accompanied by friends who allow him to focus on the band’s crushing vocals and signature bombastic stage performance.
As with “Menschenmühle” their second album “Die Urkatastrophe” is based on factual reports, letters and original documents from the surviving and deceased soldiers from the First World War. Its intent is not to glorify, because there is no glory in war. Everyone loses – their lives, their souls, their humanity. War is often depicted in an abstract way, through numbers and statistics. KANONENFIEBER aim to tell the stories of the nameless and the faceless in order to allow for a small glimpse of their personal horrors, and thereby the larger scale horror for mankind as a whole. KANONENFIEBER’s black and death metal isn’t meant to solely entertain, but also educate and raise awareness against the glorification of war.
The stormtroopers played a key role in WW1, overcoming enemy defenses and capturing strategic positions, mirrored in the energetic character of the song. Their operations were risky, and many soldiers paid a high price. There is no glory in war. Everyone loses – their lives, their souls, their humanity. “Live in Oberhausen” was recorded during the band’s biggest headlining show.

DIE URKATASTROPHE was recorded with Kristian Kohle (Powerwolf, Aborted, Benighted and many more) at Kohlekeller Studio, and features guitarist Maik Weichert of Heaven Shall Burn on the song “Waffenbrüder”.
Blackened Death metallers Kanonenfieber have released a new single and video for Der Maulwurf (The Mole), taken from their upcoming anti-war album, Die Urkatastrophe.
KANONENFIEBER explains about the back story of Der Maulwurf: “Underground mine warfare also began in the fall/winter of 1914 with the start of the trench warfare. The pioneers employed to build the mine shafts worked 12-hour shifts, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Apart from the miserable oxygen supply, the so-called ‘moles’ had to contend with water ingress and burial. The low tunnels made it impossible to work standing up, which is why the miners soon complained of back problems, open knees and hands and trench foot disease. Miners who worked for long periods of time often suffered from mental illnesses and panic attacks as a result of their work.”
“Nur der Tod gewinnt im Krieg” [“Only death succeeds in war”] –Kanonenfieber
On September 20th, blackened death metal outfit Kanonenfieber will release their sophomore album, Die Urkatastrophe. Panzerhenker is the latest single from the upcoming anti-war album. Pre-order Die Urkatastrophenow!
Kanonenfieber explains about the back story of Panzerhenker: “The Battle of Cambrai took place from November 20 to 30, 1917 and marked the first offensive in which tanks played a decisive role in the attack strategy. The British carried out the attack with the support of battle and auxiliary tanks as well as an intensive barrage. The offensive was halted by German counterattacks. With the help of anti-tank field guns the Germans managed to take out a large number of the British tanks. J. Krüger, who was known as the ‘Panzerhenker’ (Tankslayer / Tank Executioner), played an important role in this. Even when his battery was wiped out, Krüger remained as the last survivor at a field gun and destroyed up to 16 of the approaching tanks. When enemy assault troops penetrated his positions, he attacked with a pistol and was eventually wounded and captured.”
