The Krilloan project started in 2020. Klas Holmgren, composer, guitarist and lifelong metal-head decided to create the music he himself wanted to hear. Music that he felt was not created in any wider extent these days. True melodic power metal based on guitar rather than keyboards! The original plan was to keep with the project as a one man operation but soon Klas felt the need to include other metalheads. Long term friend Steve Brockmann (Vision Of Choice) joined on guitar and later Alex VanTrue was hired to handle the vocals. Marco Toba (bass) and David Lanas (drums) completed the line-up and the gates of metal was open for what was to come.
The influences of Krilloan can be traced back to the late 80’s and early 90’s, where band such as Blind Guardian, Helloween and Hammerfall ruled the world of power metal. Razorsharp riffs, epic guitar solos and soaring vocals are key ingredients of the Krilloan sound. The bands plan is to bring back the glory of power metal as it (in their head) should sound.
In the band’s own words, “we play the power metal we miss, how hard can it be? The basics for all great music is FMG – fast melodic guitars!”
Today, February 4th, KLAS HOLMGREN (Krilloan) and STEVE BROCKMANN (Vision of Choice) release a single “The Light Across The Way” with BROCKMANN’S GUESTHOUZE Project. The video will premiere today, at 7pm CET.
Steve: “Klas and I first met at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2003 and we met again and again after that, Hell Yeah! He sang background vocals on a song of the first Vision of Choice album and I got to play lead guitar on his power metal project “Krilloan”. A year ago we thought it would be cool to compose a song together for the Guesthouze, which we did. We were able to get George Andrade as a lyricist, who wrote us a really nice ghost story. Singer Andreas Kapatais comes from Cyprus and is very successful there with his band “Minus One”.
“Brockmann’s Guesthouze” is a home for individual songs that are not intended for any of my current projects (like Vision of Choice) – I can record them when I feel like it, without any pressure and without any stylistic boundaries. The concept is to have at least one guest singer and / or instrumentalist with me.”

Klas Holmgren, born in 1979 in Älmhult (south of Sweden), Sweden has been playing guitar in different bands in Sweden the last 25 years. His last project, 24 Silver Bullets was laid to rest in 2019 and Klas felt that he was done with playing gigs in rock-, and coverbands. Instead he committed his energy to a new project that had been in his thoughts for several years – Krilloan. The project started out in 2020 with the vision to compose fast and melodic powermetal the way it sounded back in the nineties. The project released their debut-EP in 2021 (with Steve Brockmann in lead guitars) and are working on new material for 2022.

Steve Brockmann, born in 1965 in Kiel (near Hamburg) Germany, has played an active role in Northern Germany’s music scene since the early 1980s. Being the creative head of various bands, he has played gigs on many stages between Germany’s most popular holiday island Sylt (up in the very North) and the orchards of Lower Saxony. Amongst others, he has played support gigs for such rock legends as Uriah Heep, Moody Marsden Band, and Hawkwind. After having spent some time roaming the North and living out his own rock ’n’ roll movie, Steve has since “retired” from the road to mainly concentrate on composing original music for his various projects in his personal studio.
