Bassist John Campbell of Richmond, Virginia metallers LAMB OF GOD has been forced to leave the band’s current North American tour due to a family emergency. His temporary replacement is Matt DeVries (FEAR FACTORY, ex-CHIMAIRA).
DeVries made his live debut with LAMB OF GOD Tuesday night (November 12) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He will play three more shows with LAMB OF GOD in Canada before heading out on tour with FEAR FACTORY as the support act for MEGADETH.
Says DeVries: “[I am] stoked and honored to be out on such an incredible tour with some great friends.”

LAMB OF GOD canceled this past Monday night’s (November 11) concert at the ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington due to Campbell‘s family emergency.
The band’s North American co-headlining tour with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE kicked off on October 22 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is scheduled to conclude on November 26 in Silver Spring, Maryland.

LAMB OF GOD will release a special 10th-anniversary edition of its “As The Palaces Burn” album on November 11.
After some serious detective work tracking down the original album master tapes, the band went in with producer Josh Wilbur (who also produced LAMB OF GOD‘s “Wrath” and “Resolution” CDs) and gave “Palaces” a full-on, ass-kicking remix and remaster, front to back, top to bottom. The remixed version of “Palaces” is now how they had originally intended it to be.
To go along with the album re-release, LAMB OF GOD also shot a brand new DVD documentary recounting the recording process and the stories behind the music which features new interviews with original producer Devin Townsend, the band members and current producer, Josh Wilbur.
LAMB OF GOD drummer Chris Adler comments: “We are lucky to have the opportunity, a decade after our first attempt, to bring what I consider to be our master work up to speed sonically.
“Ever since the original release, we’ve been distraught about the sonic qualities of ‘As The Palaces Burn’.
“The band had captured lightning in a bottle and the budget limitation of a sophomore album turned our lightning into a firefly in a jar.
“The songs are undeniable and we’ve always been very proud of how this album launched our career. It feels appropriate to revisit now that we can and give this very special album the chance to reach our original hopes and it’s true potential.”

Bravewords.com issues: As widely reported, LAMB OF GOD’s concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia scheduled for September 28th has been cancelled by the government, who refused to issue a permit for the show even though the concert had been on sale and had sold over 1,500 tickets.
Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton has issued the following statement regarding the decision by the Malaysian government. Shows scheduled in New Zealand, Australia, and Thailand will still be performed by the group:
“It is very evident (and a bit frustrating) that the groups, parties and powers that have taken the most offense to our music and lyrics, have themselves only made a passing glance at the content and meanings of those songs. We would invite anyone offended by our music to engage in a discussion regarding the true motivations behind our work, especially before publicly slandering us based on assumptions and shallow misinterpretation.
We sincerely apologize to our amazing fans in Malaysia for the cancellation. Many thanks to all who have spoken out in support of us through this.”
