LEAVES’ EYES has issued the following update on band’s Facebook page:

Dear Fans & Friends,
I can’t believe that four weeks of touring is almost over, which means that there are only two more up-coming shows of this tour; today is Bochum, tomorrow the grand final in Hannover. Our last night will be very special, as Tarja and I already have been rehearsing and preparing “a magic musical moment” for our fans and friends attending the final show of the German tour leg.

Touring through the summer-like Europe with first Midnattsol /Serenity and then Tarja has been such a pleasure with many unforgettable moments. I was so happy to meet my sister Carmen and Midnattsol at Durbuy Rock in Belgium last week-end. After two great gigs, the night ended for some of the crew and band members in the bubble-bath at the hotel. Yesterday the band members and crews of Leaves’ Eyes and Tarja had a day off. Some of us spent the day in the sauna, some of us slept through the whole day, which we all deserved! At night I was very happy to meet with Tarja in Bochum`s city centre for some pasta and sharing stories and deep moments that have taken place throughout our careers. We have very much in common, and Tarja is such a sweetheart! I hope from the bottom of my heart that Leaves’ Eyes and Tarja will be sharing stage and highway again soon.

LEAVES’ EYES — the German/Norwegian band formed by ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Liv Kristine Espenaes Krull and members of ATROCITY — recently spent time in Gothenburg, Sweden filming a video for its cover of the MIKE OLDFIELD classic “To France” with director Patric Ullaeus of Revolver Film Company, who has previously worked with DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL, IN FLAMES, SONIC SYNDICATE and KAMELOT, among others. LEAVES’ EYES‘ new album, “Meredead”, will be released on April 22 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Release dates for other territories will be announced soon. Producer/co-vocalist Alexander Krull is currently overseeing the CD’s final mix at Mastersound Studio. The album’s artwork was created by Stefan Heilemann.

The second album for the band of Liv Kristine and her husband Alexander Krull, where she seems not at all to regret the achieved popularity by the Theatre of Tragedy, indeed this band has many chances to grow despite the proliferation of symphonic metal bands.
Vinland Saga brings us into a much discussed source angle in Scandinavian history, when the Viking equipage led by Lief Erikson (son of the legendary Erik the Red) came to the lands of Vinland, today called Canada. This story is presented by a woman waiting for her husband’s return from this ambitious expedition, as can be clearly heard in the passages of the chorus of Elegy “(…) Will I hold you in my arms again? (…)” Or in the recitative of Twilight Sun “(…) If you do not return, I will leave a message for you carved in stone (…)” and many other steps within the 13 tracks that make this CD very different from song to song, however, without resulting an “already-heard-product” or recycled from the first job.
