As reported yesterday, LED ZEPPELIN has announced more premieres for Celebration Day, which documents the band’s 2007 reunion concert at London, England’s O2 Arena.
The film will make its US debut at the historic Ziegfeld Theater in New York on October 9th. Prior to the premiere, founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant will be joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, for a press conference at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
Celebration Day will then have its UK premiere at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on October 12th. Jones, Page, and Plant will also be attendance for this special event. A very limited number of tickets are available here.
Premieres for the film will follow in Berlin on October 15th, where Jones is confirmed to attend and Tokyo on October 16th, where Page will be in attendance.
Celebration Day will see a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on October 17th. Celebration Day cinema listings can be found here.

The director behind LED ZEPPELIN‘s new concert movie Celebration Day has told Contactmusic.com that any future reunion is unlikely as the project merely captured a magical musical moment in time.
In 2007 the band came together to honour late mentor Ahmet Ertegun in London and they asked video director and frequent collaborator Dick Carruthers to shoot the one-off gig and beam images onto screens set up at the O2 Arena.
Years later, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones opted to dig the footage out of the band’s vaults and take a look.
Carruthers says, “As John Paul Jones says, five years is five minutes in Zeppelin time… There’s a band who, if they wanna sit on something until the time is right, they will. They’re not hurried by any of the commercial pressures that might apply to another band.
“All that happened was several years later, there was just a phone call and they said, ‘Well, can we have a look at it then? Let’s get the stuff out and let’s have a look at it.’
“So we had two viewing days and we showed them what you call a line cut… and they were pretty blown away. I hadn’t really seen the footage either and we realised it was something very special indeed.”
Celebration Day will see a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on October 17th. Celebration Day will then be available in multiple video and audio formats on November 19th from Swan Song/Atlantic Records. Celebration Day cinema listings can be found here.
Although 20 million people applied for tickets, the band’s first headline show in 27 years was seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery.
Led Zeppelin has also been selected as one of the recipients of the 2012 Kennedy Center Honors. The band is set to receive the Honors at the annual gala on December 2nd in Washington, DC.

LED ZEPPELIN‘s surviving members took part in a press event earlier today (Friday, September 21) to promote “Celebration Day”, the film capturing the band’s 2007 reunion show at London’s O2 Arena that will premiere in theaters around the world next month. Singer Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones all were on hand to meet with the media, and also attend a screening of the movie.
During the question-and-answer session portion of the event, the musicians were asked repeatedly if they would ever consider playing together again. Without answering the question directly, Jimmy Page merely asked, “Can I just ask you all if you enjoyed the film?” Plant‘s response to the same question was, “That would be kiss and tell.”
“Celebration Day” will see a worldwide theatrical release by Omniverse Vision on 1,500 screens in over 40 territories on October 17. The theatrical screenings will follow premieres in London, Los Angeles, New York, and other major cities. “Celebration Day” will then be available in multiple video and audio formats on November 19 from Swan Song/Atlantic Records. Specific product details will be announced soon.
On December 10, 2007, LED ZEPPELIN took the stage at London’s O2 Arena to headline a tribute concert for dear friend and Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. What followed was a two-hour-plus tour de force of the band’s signature blues-infused rock ‘n’ roll that instantly became part of the legend of LED ZEPPELIN.
Founding members John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant were joined by Jason Bonham, the son of their late drummer John Bonham, to perform 16 songs from their celebrated catalogue including landmark tracks “Whole Lotta Love”, “Rock And Roll”, “Kashmir” and “Stairway To Heaven”.
Although 20 million people applied for tickets, the band’s first headline show in 27 years was seen only by the 18,000 ticket holders who were fortunate enough to have secured seats through the worldwide lottery.
Jason Bonham, who has officially drummed with LED ZEPPELIN several times, beginning with the Atlantic Records 40th anniversary concert in 1988, told The Pulse Of Radio at the time that he never assumed that the job of taking over for his father was automatically his. “I had to work at it, really prove that I could do it, and not just say, ‘Hey, I’m John Bonham‘s son, I should be doing it,'” he said. “You’ve got to earn this, ’cause there’s a million drummers out there that would love to cut your throat right now and take over.'”

The heavily rumored LED ZEPPELIN live CD/DVD from 2007 is apparently not only coming to DVD, but also movie theaters.
The band has been counting down to an official announcement, which is expected on Thursday, regarding the release of the set.
London’s The Sun — which is hardly the most reputable resource for rock release schedules — posted that the concert, which was captured during ZEPPELIN‘s reunion show on December 10, 2007 at London’s O2 Arena, will be released on CD, DVD, and Blu-ray disc on November 22.
Cineplex has revealed its plans to premiere the new package, “Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day”, in its theaters on October 17.
Here’s the Cineplex description:

Cineplex lists three dates for the screening on its web site: October 17, 19 and 25.
Yesterday (September 11), LED ZEPPELIN posted the audio introduction from “Good Times, Bad Times” in a YouTube post on its official LED ZEPPELIN Facebook page. The tune served as the opening number for the 2007 one-off reunion.
