The new masterpiece from the Finnish powerhouse LOST SOCIETY , If The Sky Came Down, has finally been released today via Nuclear Blast Records.
Frontman Samy Elbanna comments: “It feels surreal to finally be able to utter these words: “If The Sky Came Down” is OUT NOW. I couldn’t be more proud of what we accomplished with this album, and I cannot even begin to tell you how much this record means to me and the whole band. An album born of heartbreak and trauma, and essentially the final words of something truly on the edge, these songs and these words come straight from the heart, and are a testament to the fact that music and art can raise you back from the dead. We hope you love it as much as we do.”
Alongside the release, the band presents a video for ‘Awake’, which matches the song on intensity.
Samy Elbanna about the video: “We wanted something haunting, yet beautiful for the video of “Awake”. Us together with the amazing Joona Mäki wanted to capture the intensity and the frailty of the lyric, mixed with the powerful nature of the music – and I feel like we nailed it. The song is all about serenity in the destruction of something old and the creation of something new, and having the band in such a “stripped down” setting really brings that through.”
He continues about the song: “It’s so easy to believe that once you spiral out of control, the only thing left is to hit rock bottom and never get up; but in fact, very often you just have to face that painful low in order for something new and beautiful to come to life. That’s what “Awake” is all about – the beauty in rebirth, and rising from what you were sure would be the death of hope. This track features the incredible Budapest Art Orchestra, who helped us complete one of the most powerful and emotional songs we have ever released.”
LOST SOCIETY are known for being a killer live band – their energetic, neck-breaking shows tickle even the crankiest people into becoming moshpit berserkers.
With their third single from upcoming album If The Sky Came Down (out September 30th via Nuclear Blast), they deliver the ultimate banger for festival crowds.
Frontman Samy Elbanna states: “With festivals finally back in action, we’ve had the pleasure of playing some of the biggest ones this summer, and we wanted to honour this by filming our biggest show to date and making an absolute monster of a music video out of it! Sam Jamsen, the mastermind behind the video, really captured the intensity of an LxSx live show, and the video is a perfect way of continuing the story of the new album.”
Dealing with mental health issues in the lyrics throughout the album, this song addresses addiction.
Samy Elbanna explains: “The human mind is one of the most complex things we know, and our curiosity towards the unknown is powerful. “What Have I Done” is a story of what can happen when you push that curiosity to an absolute extreme, and you realise you’ve become addicted to something you know is not right.”
Finnish modern metal squad LOST SOCIETY recently shook the scene upside down with “112”, the first single of their upcoming album “If The Sky Came Down”, which is going to be released on September 30th via Nuclear Blast Records.
With “Stitches” the band delivers a heavy pounding anthem for any modern metalhead out there, while addressing serious mental health issues.
Frontman Samy Elbanna about the song: “Chapter 5 continues, and we’re heading deeper inside the human mind. Stitches talks about something that is more than familiar for so many people. The fact that no matter how hard you try to mask your traumas and past scars, they always find a way of haunting you until you come head to head with them all. Sometime’s you just have to pull out your stitches and let all the blood and hurt come out, before you can finally start healing.”
He continues about the video: “Vita Pictura has once again delivered a true masterpiece. Once again the intensity and true anguish of the track get an incredible visual representation, and the viewers will definitely feel what this song is all about. The video has us in scenes of near insanity, but also in our most free state. Just as the lyric, we feel trapped by our past, until we rip off the last remaining stitches to let it all out and realise we’re not alone.”

Only two years after their incredibly successful latest album “No Absolution”, Finnish modern metal squad LOST SOCIETY have come back ferociously with the first single from their upcoming manifesto “If The Sky Came Down”, which will be released on September 30th via Nuclear Blast.
Frontman Samy Elbanna shares some insights:
”The upcoming album is a portrayal of how you see the world after you have come to terms with the fact that all hope has been lost. A world where all your insecurities and worst fears come to life. It’s my story, and “112” is where it all begins. It’s the moment you realise your life has started to unravel and you can finally be fully honest with yourself and admit: you’re not okay. There’s something incredibly purifying and serene about letting go, and finally starting to build something new. Since writing the lyrics and chorus to this song, it was clear that this was the first song people have to hear from the album.”
He continues:
“During the recording of the album, I had compiled a few different music video ideas that I really wanted to do for the album – and the synopsis that I had for 112 was just something we knew we HAD to do. The AMAZING Vita Pictura team immediately grabbed the idea and supercharged it, and I think together we made something absolutely magical. The music video depicts the whole theme of the album, and in particular the feeling talked about on the track itself. Going through a period in time where you feel as though you keep waking up in the exact same time, same place and same emotion without any help. You try to mess with your own “hell loop” but you just keep falling down and finding yourself back where you started.”
The fertile co-operation with producer and co-writer Joonas Parkkonen, which started on the previous album “No Absolution”, continues on this new masterpiece. They just found an incredible chemistry which created the most ambitious, versatile and innovative record of the bands career…so far.
