Extreme Management Group (EMG), home to bands like Suffocation, Cattle Decapitation, Rings of Saturn, and more, has announced their partnership with Italian Melodic Death Metal band LUNARSEA.
LUNARSEA arose in 2003 with founding members Fabiano Romagnoli and Cristian Antolini. The first demo titled “EVOLUTION PLAN.TXT” was released that same year, followed by a 2004 release “BIO ASHES HALO”. After the initial EP releases, the band signed with Greek label Burning Star Records to record their first full-length album “HYDRODYNAMIC WAVE” in 2006. The debut album was very well received by metal audiences and the media as “HYDRODYNAMIC WAVE” became the best seller for Burning Star Records, which brought on a promotional tour in the Greek territories; including the Metal Healing Festival in Xanthi, where Lunarsea shared the stage with other prominent European bands.
After releasing a music video for the song “Beside The Driver”, the band began to work on the follow-up album titled “ROUTE CODE SELECTOR”, released in 2009 by Italian label Punishment 18 Records. Reviewed as “with power, with atmosphere, with melody and plenty of ferocity and energy!”.
In 2012 the band began work on their third new studio album. “HUNDRED LIGHT YEARS” was released in 2013, recorded at Outer Sound Studios and Mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox. The album sold-out and a second release on a digipak format was released to follow the demand.
In 2015 Lunarsea released a video documentary celebrating their first 10 years of activity with interviews, live footage and more; followed by several live gigs to continue the promotion of “HUNDRED LIGHT YEARS”. Lunarsea went on a European Tour with Orphaned Land in 2018; as the band began to write new material for their fourth studio album. The new album called “EARTHLING-TERRESTRE” was released in December 2019 and became available worldwide on January 31st, 2020. Even as “EARTHLING-TERRESTRE” was released at the end of 2019, it was included as one of the TOP 2019 Melodic Death Metal albums from several webzines, and received great reviews. “Listeners will once again be honored with a technically brilliant album that goes straight into the blood”. The new effort was mastered as well by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios.
LUNARSEA has shared the stage with some great bands like DEATH D.T.A., DARK TRANQUILLITY, RAGE, IMPALED NAZARENE, FIREWIND, PRIMAL FEAR, PRIMORDIAL, SWALLOW THE SUN, INSOMNIUM, OBSCURA, DARKANE, NARGAROTH, EKTOMORF, SINISTER, SEPTIC FLESH, ABORTED, DARK FUNERAL, CARPATHIAN FOREST, THE HAUNTED and more.

During their career Lunarsea took part in a lot of festivals around Europe, like GODS OF METAL, METAL HEALING FESTIVAL, NIHIL EXTREME FESTIVAL, TOTAL METAL FESTIVAL.
As for the name… For humanity, the Moon has always symbolized the mystery, something to which one can turn one’s gaze to seek answers.
In recent history, humanity has managed to reach space. The Moon has become an icon of technology and a new frontier. The Moon and the Sea represent two opposites that attract each other, and are closely connected. The tides hear the call of the lunar force and the Moon feels the attraction of the Earth. The lunar seas are desolate, lifeless rocks. If the Moon did not exist, the water in the oceans would stop moving; everything on Earth would change, and surviving would become arduous. This game of opposites is a perfect allegory for the path that all of us as humans have traveled. The relationship of humanity with its primordial nature on the one side, and the evolution brought by science and new technologies on the other. However, while we are evolving as a society, as a species, we are less and less aware. As the world changes rapidly, we ask ourselves fewer and fewer questions. Humans have less and less control. We feel the link with the ground on which we rest our feet and, at the same time, the call of the sky to which we turn our gaze. In this continuous progress, now humanity has to choose what to become. So, LUNARSEA is not just a name: it is a question. A search into the human condition that seeks new balances within this paradox, towards the horizon of a new identity. This project aims to bring new ideas, reflections and awareness, with the strength that only art and music are able to release. After all, only those who are not afraid to ask themselves real questions, can find real answers.
Now the band has signed with Extreme Management Group, and had the following to say about the partnering, “We’re thrilled to join the EMG Management group, for live promotion of our new album “Earthling/Terrestre” as well as band management/promotion. Guys from EMG impressed us with their professional skills, it was easy for us to choose them as LUNARSEA representatives. See you soon on stage!” EMG said, “Lunarsea has done a ton of work getting themselves to this point. We intend to make that hard work count.” Anticipate big things to come from Lunarsea and Extreme Management Group.

Guitarist Fabiano Romagnoli stated: “Time has come! We’re back and ready to promote live our latest and hyped album called “Earthling/Terrestre” released in January 2020. “Earthling/Terrestre” is considered by most media/reviewer as our best album so far, but we were so unluckly to release it 2 months before covid pandemic comes out unfortunately. After 12 months of studio and promotion activity, by releasing 4 lyric video, a collaboration with Bjorn “Speed” Strid from Soilwork and dozen of rehearsal, we get in touch again with Tarja and Roberto from the brand new SPLIT SCREEN MANAGEMENT agency for a new collaboration, and we’re very proud of them for all the works they did for us already in the past. See you back on the road. Stay Lunar!”
