Greek progressive metallers MASK OF PROSPERO are back with their second album “Hiraeth”. It´s released via Swedish label ViciSolum Productions today, January 27th. The bands’ musical identity can be described as a blend of Djent and Metalcore vibes, with cinematic arrangements and electronic textures. Vocals range from deafening growls to melodic pop lines.

Progressive metalcore whirlwind MASK OF PROSPERO have released a new video/single “Lament”. The song is the first single out from their up-coming album “Hiraeth”, that will be released in January 2023 via ViciSolum Productions.

“Lament” is a dialogue of the soul, penetrating deep emotions above and beyond what man has been able to hear. It is a form of awareness, emanating from realistic experiences teeming with cynicism and melancholy, based on an axiom: that every person who happens to be a part of your daily routine, even for a while, lives a life as vivid and complex as yours· people who have been in our lives for a while and have treated us badly or made us realize things, and then disappear, leaving behind ashes of experiences, but also traces that may never be erased.

About Mask of Prospero

Mask of Prospero is a Modern Metal band from Athens, Greece. It consists of five individuals driven by the safety of daydreaming and their passion for music, urging them to play like there is no tomorrow.

The band was formed in 2014 by Chris Kontoulis and Panos Kottaras and released their first EP “In Absence” later the following year. After small changes in the bands’ composition and the entry of new, stable members, they formed their final lineup which consists of Chris Kontoulis (Vocals), Panos Kottaras & Nick Letsios (Guitars), Aggelos Malisovas (Bass) and Andreas Kalogeras (Drums). They released their debut album ”The Observatory” in April 2018, which marked a promised beginning for their musical path, giving them the chance to play shows besides bands like Tesseract and Thy Art is Murder.

Their musical identity is a blend of Djent and Metalcore vibes with cinematic arrangements and electronic textures. Vocals range from deafening growls to melodic pop lines, giving the feeling that they can fit into any lineup.
