Next week, the iconic »MTV Headbangers Ball Tour« kicks off at Felsenkeller, Leipzig (Germany)! Headlined by Canadian melodic death metal heavyweights KATAKLYSM, the line-up will be completed by Knoxville, TN based metal squad WHITECHAPEL, Italian symphonic death metal giants FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE as well as UK death metal band DYSCARNATE. In anticipation of the run, KATAKLYSM have launched a lyric video for the track ‘The Last Breath I’ll Take Is Yours’, taken from their highly-acclaimed studio album »Meditations« (2018). Watch now:

Frontman Maurizio Iacono states, “‘The Last Breath I’ll Take Is Yours’ is a song that deals with having to prove yourself over and over again to society. The world keeps consuming everything and keeps throwing challenges at you. It’s about navigating life through struggle and in the end…having the last word over it on your own terms. Montréal based melodic death metallers KATAKLYSM are set to unleash their new studio album, “Meditations” on June 1st, 2018 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Today, the band released their music video for their second single off “Meditations”. Watch the video for “Narcissist” here:

A gift to the fans is the bonus DVD of the new album. This live DVD was filmed in Munich, Germany on the “A Moment in Time” tour on October 21, 2017. It features the performance of the bands 2 classic albums, »Shadows & Dust« and »Serenity in Fire« in their entirety. The concert was captured by several cameras and recorded live in front of a full house of fans from around the world. Mixed by the band’s guitarist, JF Dagenais, the feature also includes interviews with the band members about that very special tour and the new album »Meditations«.

Montreal based extremists KATAKLYSM recently announced their next offering, “Meditations”, is slated for an April 2018 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

The band has revealed that they have enlisted acclaimed Los Angeles based producer Jay Ruston (ANTHRAX, STONE SOUR) to mix and master their new upcoming album.

Guitarist JF Dagenais states:
“This album has so much to offer that we decided to search for someone outside the box for it. Someone who comes with a fresh outlook and hasn’t work with extreme or death metal bands. We wanted someone with a more organic feel but at the same time can pound a mix into your chest with the power and definition it deserves. When Jay accepted to work with us, we knew he would bring just that! So far, the first mixes coming in are incredible. We will be turning some heads on this album folks. That’s all I can say for now, cant wait!”

KATAKLYSM have spent the last 25 years cementing their legacy in the extreme metal genre. 2016 marked a whirlwind of excitement as the band added a Juno Award to their collection as well as landing their highest Billboard charting. They are one of a handful of bands that have the title of “Longest Standing Artist” on the Nuclear Blast roster. Born in 1992 from the cold winds of Montreal, Québec, Canada comes one of the country’s top extreme musical exports to date: KATAKLYSM.
