In 2026, Sventevith — the seminal debut album by Behemoth — will rise again in a series of exclusive festival appearances across Europe, including Beyond the Gates in Bergen, Norway. Marking the 30th anniversary of its original release, Nergal will revisit the dark origins of his musical legacy, performing Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic) in its entirety.
This extraordinary series will see Nergal joined by Icelandic black metal visionaries Misþyrming, whose raw energy and uncompromising intensity have reshaped the modern black metal landscape. Together, they will summon the primal spirit of the 1995 release — an album that laid the foundation for Behemoth’s evolution from underground obscurity to global extremity.
Performed live for the first time as a full conceptual work, Sventevith will return as both a tribute and a transformation: a rare convergence of heritage and renewal, honoring Behemoth’s roots while embracing the ferocity of a new generation.
On July 29 – August 1, Beyond the Gates will be held for the 14th time, showcasing why the festival has grown into the international metal gathering it has become. Attracting visitors from 50 different countries around the world, the extreme metal festival has become a global phenomenon. The festival takes place the city center of Bergen, using several venues spread across town, including the legendary Grieghallen and USF Verftet. Gold passes for the festival are running low!

Following the chart-topping part one of the album, ME AND THAT MAN now present whole new facets: Opening track “Black Hearse Cadillac”, featuring the vocals of Hank von Hell and guitar sorcery by Anders Odden, marks a sinister beginning to this infernal journey through dark desert soundscapes and evil lyricism. Driving “Under The Spell” (feat. Mary Goore) lives up to its title, at times evoking a spaghetti western-esque ambience. Songs like wicked “Witches Don’t Fall in Love” (feat. Kristoffer Rygg/Ulver), straight-to-the-head rocking “Blues & Cocaine” (feat. Michale Graves) and mysterious “Goodbye” – with a haunting yet powerful vocal attack by Alissa White-Gluz – showcase the record’s extensive variety and that there’s something unexpected lurking all throughout. This is further evident on songs like the soulful blues-rock ballad “Angel of Light” featuring the compelling voice of Myrkur, or insanely dynamic, uptempo outburst of “Got Your Tongue” feat. Nergal’s darkened blues project ME AND THAT MAN has just released their last single off its upcoming album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1.“Confession” is everything and nothing at all: a call straight into the void, a statement filled with melancholy, a prayer to no one and an apology to people you care about. A mournful country lament, the song mirrors the dark epilogue of the upcoming album. The charismatic singer of Swedish black metal band SHINING, Niklas Kvarforth, lends his unforgettable, almost weeping vocals to the song and sublimates an almost physical sorrow that resonates through the subtle yet catchy guitar riffs. He manages to breathe life into the self-loathing that the protagonist of the song seems to be feeling. The song will surprise the listener with a sudden eruption of an unanticipated black metal inspired drum solo and a bewildering outburst of emotion.

Nergal’s darkened blues project ME AND THAT MAN has just released yet another single fresh off its upcoming album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1. “By The River” takes you on a drive with the Devil himself, straight through the aberrations of the graveyard and back. Creating a uniquely captivating atmospheric concept, the desert-tinted soundscapes weave throughout the song. Ihsahn of the legendary Emperor lends his entrancing vocals to this single and will bewitch the listener. Slow hypnotizing riffs round off the track, while a masterfully escalating guitar solo closes “By The River” on a high note.
Bridging the gap to the vintage atmospheres of the previously released videos, “By The River” is the next ritual of initiation, straight into the distinctive aesthetics and stories ME AND THAT MAN tells on the upcoming album. The peculiarly alienated spaces and desert landscapes framed by an enchanting soundtrack unfold gradually in front of the viewer, taking form in a captivating odyssey through Southern landscapes, cities, villages and empty crossroads. Nergal on “By The River”: “When the rumours first emerged of me collaborating with Rob Halford and Ihsahn, the idea sparked imaginations. I guess people would expect a Nergal and Ihsahn partnership to be extreme, but what came out was a bare bones, blues banger! I’ve got to tell you; it wasn’t an easy sell…at first Ihsahn didn’t think there was much he could add – luckily, I knew different and I gave him a simple instruction, ‘have fun’. A week later I got the track back and I was totally blown away! Considering the status of the man, he is humble and professional to the core. It was my pleasure to work with him and now it’s our pleasure to present to you, “By The River”!”

Nergal’s inscrutable blackened blues project has revealed their fourth single “Męstwo” off their upcoming album, New Man, New Songs, Same Shit, Vol.1, to be released on March 27, 2020 via Napalm Records. The single is a fundamental part of the album and will take the listener on a sorrowful journey, showing the world that even the Devil himself is sometimes caught by feelings of self-doubt and melancholy.
“Męstwo” is the first song that Nergal has ever performed completely in Polish, and will captivate each and every listener with its mournful and forlorn vibe. This single might be the most intimate one on this album, and it’s the only song in which Nergal himself sings, making it even more special. A catchy rhythm, bluesy guitar and shuffling drums bewitch the listener on this standout song. The single is accompanied by a striking audiovisual that captures the essence of “Męstwo” perfectly. “When our drummer, Kuman first sent me the demo version of “Męstwo”, I was immediately drawn to it – it’s a simple song and simply written but totally honest and genuine. It’s the only song on the record I sing on and it’s exclusively Polish. “Męstwo” translates to manhood; in this world of judgement, prejudice and struggle, the message of the song is to remain on your own course, to stay motivated and follow your own intuition – this is what manhood represents to me.”
