Niklas Stålvind, frontman for Swedish bashers WOLF, is featured in an interview with Chris Simpson at Merseyside Metal Madness, conducted on October 19th in Manchester, UK. Check it out below:
Earlier this year, Wold revealed during an interview with Metal Shock Finland that they have a new product on the market: Wolf’s Blood Hot Sauce.
This hot sauce is made in Costa Rica and is a combination of the world’s hottest known chilli pepper, Naga Jolokia, with pepper extract and ranges at an incredible 666,000 Scoville units. It can be purchased here.
The band commented: “We are working on some fun stuff that we can’t talk about yet, but we do have a hot sauce coming out called Wolf’s Blood. It makes you howl, don’t drink it!!”
A three-minute video clip of Niklas Stålvind of Swedish metallers WOLF talking about his Gibson guitar when he was in India to perform at the Harley Rock Riders festival can be seen below.
WOLF last year parted ways with guitarist Johannes “Axeman” Losbäck and replaced him with Simon Johansson (ABSTRAKT ALGEBRA, BIBLEBLACK, MEMORY GARDEN). Simon previously played with WOLF in 2009 when they supported W.A.S.P. for four shows.
WOLF‘s sixth album, “Legions Of Bastards”, was released in April 2011 via Century Media Records. The follow-up to 2009’s “Ravenous” was produced by Pelle Saether at Studio Underground in Vasterås, Sweden. The cover artwork was once again created by Thomas Holm (the man who was responsible for the legendary MERCYFUL FATE “Melissa” and “Don’t Break The Oath” covers).
Swedish metallers WOLF recently made their first appearance in India, headlining the Harley Rock Riders Festival, organised by Harley Davidson Motorcycles and Rolling Stone India magazine. The show took place in Bangalore and was free to all.
Several Indian bands played there including horror metal band ALBATROSS. Niklas Stalvind, vocalist and guitarist with WOLF made an appearance on stage with the Mumbai metallers. He joined them for the song he contributed his vocals to, on the latest ALBATROSS EP release: “The Kissing Flies“, named “Uncle Sunny At The Tavern.”
WOLF released their sixth album “Legions Of Bastards” in 2011 and will soon be working on their next one, aiming for release later in 2013.

It is a year since we last saw WOLF in the UK and this month they are back to shake our eardrums with their Swedish heavy metal, supporting EVILE.
Blackdiamond from METAL SHOCK FINLAND caught up with Viper, Raptor, Tornado and Demon (A.K.A. Niklas, Richard, Anders and Simon) at The Corporation in Sheffield this week and conducted an interview with three of the four “Wolves.”
The show was extremely heavy, extremely loud with excellent metal tunes which left my ears ringing well into the following day!
Read below for some excerpts from our conversation:
Simon discussing WOLF‘s plans for next year said: “The main focus will be to sit down and work on the new album. We’re also playing Prog Power USA anda festival in Spain, but our main goal is to make the album, then a big tour afterwards.”
When asked about the forthcoming show in India, Simon Johansson and Anders Modd said the following: “We don’t really know what to expect. It could be good or it could be excellent (laughs). It’s arranged by Harley Davidson and Rolling Stone Magazine India. We have high expectations and we’re also looking forward to eating some curry and drinking some Indian beer.”
When discussing the impact of illegal downloads Richard Holmgren stated “It can affect us in a good and bad way. The bad way is of course it’s bad for business and people don’t get paid for what they put in. The good way, maybe 1000 people a week could get to hear WOLF through downloading, then they buy a ticket and come to the shows and also buy merchandise. You have to see it in the long term, the bands will get something back from it eventually.”
I was also told some exciting news about a new product from WOLF in the shape of a hot sauce, going by the awesome name of WOLF’S BLOOD! It is being produced in Austria and the band are looking right now at the best way of delivering it to the fans. The guys said “We are working on some fun stuff that we can’t talk about yet, but we do have a hot sauce coming out called WOLF’S BLOOD. It’s 666 thousand Scoville strength and it makes you howl, don’t drink it!!”

Recently Metal Gods TV’s Mick “The Beard” conducted an interview with Niklas Stålvind from Swedish metallers WOLF, at the Corporation in Sheffield, England. Check out the video below.
Swedish heavy metal band WOLF confirmed that they will be performing at the upcoming Harley Rock Riders III to be held on November 24th in Bengaluru.
Founder member, vocalist and guitarist Niklas Stålvind says in an email interview, “I’ve got the impression that India is really opening up for heavy metal in the last years, so we’re very happy to play in the country at this point in time.”
The band has been drawn to Indian classical music since the beginning of their career with Stålvind even having played the sitar on their track “Electric Raga,” that appeared on their self-titled debut album in 2000. “Fifteen years ago I bought a sitar and wrote “Electric Raga” that ended up on the first WOLF album. It’s not an easy task to master the sitar. I’m looking forward to seeing how the song is received by the country that inspired the song. I guess we have to play this one like a tribute to India,” said Stålvind.
The band is planning an anthemic set list comprising some of their best-known live songs of all times. They will also debut a brand new track at the gig. “We’ve picked the best live songs from our six albums, the songs where there’s usually a chanting audience singing along, so we expect nothing less from the Indian fans! We have also a song on the set list that we’ve never played live before. It’s got a haunting melody, with a great sing-along chorus and a horror vibe to it. I think we may just open the set with that,” says Stålvind.
The day-long, free concert will be held at Clarks Exotica, Bengaluru. Wolf, who will soon be on tour in UK and Ireland, released their sixth album Legions Of Bastards in 2011. Besides WOLF, there will be nine Indian bands performing at Harley Rock Riders III. Watch this space for more news soon.
