Old School Metal Records To Release “ANTIDOTE: The Rock Years” On June 9th

New York City die-hards ANTIDOTE have teamed with Old School Metal Records to unearth an overlooked era in band’s storied history.

ANTIDOTE: The Rock Years features 12 remastered tracks from the band’s late 80’s/early 90’s foray into hard rock. Old School Metal Records will release the album June 9 on vinyl, CD and digital formats.

Part of the first wave of American Hardcore, ANTIDOTE released the iconic Thou Shalt Not Kill in 1983, soon after the band first came together in New York City’s lower east side.

After shutting down as a hardcore band in 1986, ANTIDOTE reunited as a hard rock outfit in 1988. Led by guitar player / principal songwriter Robb Nunzio & vocalist / filmmaker Drew Stone, the band was heavily influenced by Guns & Roses, Judas Priest and similar bands of the era. They soon released the Garrett Uhlenbrock (The Ramones) produced album Return 2 Burn on Metropolis Records.

The band was a mainstay on the circuit in New York City at the time including The Limelight, The Cat Club and L’amour with many of it’s contemporaries including Circus Of Power and Blitzspeer. ANTIDOTE released Viva Los Pendejos in 1991, but folded again for good a year later.

Following a 16 year hiatus, the band reunited in 2008 and is now enjoying a resurgence playing a combination of both styles. A compilation of the best tracks from multiple recordings from the ‘Rock era’ – including Return 2 Burn, We’re Comin Afta You and Road Warrior – have been compiled and remastered for this compilation release.

“Revisiting these tracks many years later was really great and now that they are remastered they sound better than ever” said Guitarist Nunzio.

“I am excited that the best of this era is finally going to see the light of day” said vocalist Drew Stone. “People in Europe have always requested these tracks and it’s nice that they are finally going to get the star treatment.”

REPTILIAN DEATH: Releases New Single Online

Indian death metal band REPTILIAN DEATH, featuring members of DEMONIC RESURRECTION and BHAYANAK MAUT have released a new single ‘Emerge, Hatred, Emerge’ on their soundcloud page. The song is taken from the band’s sophomore album ‘The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence’ which releases worldwide on 10th October 2013 via Old School Metal Records.

The album has already been made available as a digital download on Itunes, Amazon.com, Spotify and other digital music retail stores. Reptilian Death also recently announced their debut International appearance at UK’s Hammfest 2014.

Mysterious death metallers REPTILIAN DEATH from India have inked a deal with California based record label Old School Metal Records. The label will be releasing the bands latest album ‘The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence’ worldwide on 10th October 2013.

I’ve known Patrick (OSM Ceo) for a while now and he’s very passionate about the music and I couldn’t have asked for a better label to release the album on. The album released a while back in India and now finally our fans overseas can get their hands on a copy. We should also be working on some dates to tour UK/Europe in early 2014.”

REPTILIAN DEATH has long existed in the shadows of the Indian metal scene as the side project of DEMONIC RESURRECTION frontman, Demonstealer. The band spent their first 12 years making sporadic live appearances and changing line-ups fairly often. During that time, REPTILIAN DEATH had an almost humorous disposition, writing little spoof metal epics like ‘5 Easy Ways To Murder Someone‘ and ‘Nursery Rhymes For Satan’s Children‘ while balancing a handful of serious tracks which eventually found themselves on their 2004 debut, ‘Total Annihilation‘. In 2006, the band’s direction took a turn for the serious with the release of their EP ‘Intestinal Feast‘ on the ‘Defaced And Split‘ album, which also featured Exhumation, Warface and Narsil.

Shortly after the release, the band returned to the shadows until resurfacing in early 2013. The band exploded on the scene completely metamorphosed into brand new beast. Fronted by Vinay Venkatesh (Bhaynak Maut), dressed in priestly robes with his face painted half black and half white and backed by a band of masked members REPTILIAN DEATH has moved out of the shadows and into the forefront of the global metal community. The world will now see ‘The Dawn Of Consummation And Emergence.’
