Iconic Berlin label Pelagic Records has announced its first wave of artists for Pelagic Fest 2026, which will unfold on 28th and 29th August at Muziekgieterij in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

Including post-metal legends The Ocean, returning with a new lineup and a new album release coming soon, Pelagic Fest 2026 looks to be yet another sensational event from the esteemed label.

The Ocean are joined by The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble for an ultra-rare performance, Oh Hiroshima, EF, and more.

“We are excited to share a first glimpse on the lineup of Pelagic Fest 2026 with you.

“THE OCEAN will return to the stage of Muziekgieterij with a new lineup and a new album release just around the corner, to inaugurate the next chapter in their journey spanning 11 albums and 25 years of existence. This will be the first show for the European audience and the first opportunity to hear new material.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome THE KILIMANJARO DARKJAZZ ENSEMBLE to Pelagic Fest. 
After 10 years of hiatus, the collective reunited this summer for a single Berlin show, which sold out months in advance. The vibe in the room was sublime and full of anticipation, and proved that even after such a long hiatus their music has been all but forgotten. TKDE have pioneered and shaped a musical genre of their own with albums like Here Be Dragons‚ From The Stairwell and the self-titled 2006 debut album. We can’t wait to immerse ourselves in their mesmerizing dark soundscapes.

“OH HIROSHIMA will return to the MainStage of Pelagic Fest with a new album that we can’t tell you more about at this stage, only that it’s coming out before the festival.

“EF will grace us with their 2025 re-recorded debut album Give Me Beauty… Or Give Me Death! in its entirety.

“SPURV will be releasing their new album Kelolågen next spring and LOST IN KIEV will drop We’re All Going To Be Fine in the summer, and Pelagic Fest will be your chance to watch them perform their new offerings in full. 

“THE DEVIL’S TRADE will bring us a full band performance this time, and PREDATORY VOID, OTAY:ONII, ZATOKREV, NORNA, ABRAHAM, HANRY and PREYRS will all make their debut appearance at Pelagic Fest.

Iconic Berlin label Pelagic Records has unveiled the aftermovie for Pelagic Fest 2024, with bands and fans who attended last year’s edition reminding us of the amazing vibes and stunning performances by the likes of A Swarm of The Sun, Year Of No Light, Karin Park, Glassing, The Ocean and many more. It also serves as a great preview for what to expect at this year’s edition on 23rd and 24th August at Muziekgieterij in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

Pelagic Fest 2025 has also announced the addition of Sierra Veins, (formerly known as SIERRA) to the lineup. Merging violence with melancholy and gentleness with brutality, Sierra Veins blends contrasting moods and styles to create a singular, overpowering universe inspired by synthwave, EBM and darkwave. After the success of her first singles ‘Gone’ and ‘Unbroken’ getting millions of streams in no time, the French artist released her first album A Story of Anger in 2023 including collaborations with Carpenter Brut, Health, Gunship and The Ocean.

Headlined by blackened progressive metal virtuoso Ihsahn, Pelagic Fest 2025 will feature a standout lineup showcasing unique sounds and experiences. Also headlining are post-rock pioneers This Will Destroy You, known for their evocative soundscapes and God Is an Astronaut, whose cinematic instrumental rock has earned them global acclaim. The lineup’s diversity spans from the engaging post-metal of Belgium’s Psychonaut to the tranquil, instrumental sounds of Hungarian ensemble TÖRZS. Sydney’s LO! will deliver their powerful, intense energy, while Hypno5e combines metal with atmospheric soundscapes. Swedish group Gösta Berlings Saga introduces a dark, krautrock influence. Each act offers a unique voice, collectively weaving a tapestry of emotions, innovation, and musical exploration.

The festival will also feature several exclusive full album sets. French instrumental rock pioneers Bruit ≤ will perform two sets: Sunday’s set will focus on their trailblazing debut album The Machine Is Burning… alongside material from their Monolith EP. Saturday’s performance will showcase upcoming album The Age Of Ephemerality, in full, live for the first time ever.

Additionally, the enigmatic You, Infinite will debut their new self-titled album in an exclusive live performance, offering a rare experience of their latest evolution whilst This Will Destroy You will serve some older classics. These performances promise to be both a celebration and a deep dive into the creative depths of these bands.

As a special Artist Focus event, Swedish artist John G. Winther will be sharing the full spectrum of his creative vision at Pelagic Fest. Beyond his performances with his bands Barrens and Blessings, Winther will present a  one-of-a-kind solo set centred around his 2021 album The Rupturing Sowle. As a testament to his multifaceted artistry, the festival will also feature an exhibition of his visual artwork, displayed in the venue’s foyer, blending his music and visual art into an experience that invites reflection.
