Estonian metalcore band PRIDIAN release their debut album Venetian Dark via Century Media Records. Following their 2023 Cybergnosis EP, the 12-track album blends groove-driven heaviness with cinematic textures and raw lyrical depth, exploring themes of trauma, mental health, and inner conflict. The band also drops a new video for “ Convoy,” a track capturing the crushing weight of past choices.
“Humanity has lost its connection with nature and itself. We exploit everything, driven by greed,” says vocalist Laur Lindmäe.
Venetian Dark is available now on CD and limited blue-black marbled vinyl.
Catch Pridian live at Mystic Festival, Hard Rock Laager, and their May 23 record release show in Tallinn.
The wait is almost over: With “Endless”, Estonia’s metalcore force PRIDIAN are releasing their fourth and last single from their upcoming record “Venetian Dark”, which will officially be out in its full glory May 16th, 2025, via Century Media Records. While “Endless” is being released with an impactful music video, the quartet shows once more what Estonia’s metal scene has to offer, raising the anticipation for their upcoming record.
Vocalist Laur Lindmäe shares about the inspiration for “Venetian Dark”:
“Venice itself holds a profound history of resilience – falling and being reborn many times. Ingeniously built atop a lagoon to thrive amidst water, the city continuously battles the forces of nature: sinking foundations and encroaching tides. Despite being slowly devoured by the sea, its people persist in preserving its beauty, culture, and history. The album tells the story of a journey through darkness and despair toward a new state of being – a possible transformation or rebirth.”
He shares as the inspiration for “Endless”:
“There’s something about the way they look at me now. Like I’m a symbol of something I never agreed to. A shape. A signal. A convincing surface. I’ve kept quiet long enough for them to mistake that for agreement. I’ve stood in their ceremonies, watched them raise empty words like banners. I echo their language without saying anything of my own. Not because I believe, but because it’s easier than being exposed. They don’t want truth. They want symmetry. Clean lines. No noise. I can still feel – The thing they’ve forgotten how to name. And I know they see it flicker in me, even if they don’t understand it. Maybe that’s why they keep me close. Maybe that’s what they’re afraid of.”
Society moves like a machine: polished, efficient, and emotionally numb. It performs belief but doesn’t feel it. It repeats the shape of meaning, but not the soul of it.”

Estonia’s metalcore force PRIDIAN are unveiling details for their upcoming album “Venetian Dark” alongside their newest single “DINY”. Their record, which will mark the band’s debut album, is set to be released May 16th, 2025, via Century Media Records and follows Pridian’s 2023 debut EP “Cybergnosis”. With the release of “Venetian Dark”, Pridian show not just their own potential in the international metalcore scene but also why Estonia’s growing metal scene deserves more light in the future. “Venetian Dark” is now available for pre-order.
Vocalist Laur Lindmäe shares about the inspiration for “Venetian Dark”:
„Looking at it on a larger scale, I believe that humanity has lost its connection with nature, the planet, and even itself. We relentlessly exploit every last resource, driven by profit and greed. Our ideologies have grown superficial, and we are becoming less and less empathetic. Even if we end up destroying the Earth, we seem to have this cockroach-like ability to survive. We’ll likely figure out how to launch ourselves into space, discover another planet to inhabit, and start the cycle all over again.”
The band shares the backstory about “DINY”:
“I drove fast. Faster than I should have really. The night pressed in on me, cold and endless, the road disappearing into the blackness ahead. The air outside was freezing, but it couldn’t match the cold that had settled inside me. My thoughts circled around her, over and over. Every streetlight I passed threw her silhouette onto the road, and for a moment, I thought I saw her standing there, waiting for me. My foot pressed harder on the gas, wondering what it would feel like to just keep going— to let everything go. The emptiness inside was worse than the road ahead, and I wasn’t sure if I was trying to outrun it or dive straight into it. She was gone, but not gone enough. And no matter how fast I went, I knew I’d never escape her.”
It might be their biggest year yet: After announcing their signing to label Century Media Records last year in September and releasing two hard hitting singles, Pridian are not slowing down anytime soon. The band from Estonia is delivering their third single with “Out For Blood” while continuously teasing their upcoming album, which is set for a spring release this year.
“Out For Blood” equals almost a battle cry with its raw, hard-hitting lyrics which encapsulate a relentless pursuit of justice while overcoming influences and perception from the outside world. Musically, the track captivates with a chaotic nature through its energetic riffs paired with EDM-style synths. Atmospheric elements such as the almost robotic voices create an addicting dynamic and relentless energy that makes one want to see this song come alive live. “Out For Blood” showcases that Pridian are not afraid to get a bit more experimental with their sound. With “Near Dark” and “idoldust” released prior, fans of the genre can keep their anticipation for this record high.
About Pridian Initially formed in 2018 by guitarists Jörg-Erik Hanikat and Martin Randalu, drummer Robert Leht, and completed by singer Laur Lindmäe, who joined in 2021, Estonian band Pridian quickly evolved their very own style and take on modern metal. Having released an album called “The Rotten Unknown” under their name ÆØNS in 2021, the band was nominated for the “Metal Album of The Year” at the Estonian Music Awards and built the foundation of what’s to come under their new name. Rebranded as Pridian, the band released their debut EP “Cybergnosis” in the fall of 2023 and constantly elaborated their unique sound. Their modern take on industrial soundscapes, metalcore, and catchy hooks made them known in the rising Estonian metal scene and beyond. Just one week before opening Sunday’s mainstage at the infamous Euroblast Festival in Cologne – their first-ever performance in Germany – the band announced their signing with German metal label Century Media Records to release their brand new single “Near Dark”, embarking on a new chapter of the band’s history.

After announcing their signing with Century Media Records in September and releasing the single “Near Dark”, Estonian metalcore quartet Pridian are keeping up the momentum with their latest track “idoldust” from their forthcoming album. Characterized by atmospheric depth and intense dynamics, the single highlights Pridian’s versatility while further shaping the unique sound listeners can expect from the band in the near future. Their record, which will mark the band’s second full-length album, is set to be released some time in spring 2025. The album follows Pridian’s 2023 EP “Cybergnosis”.
“Idoldust is about the human tendency to glorify external symbols of power, without realizing that the monuments and figures are mere reflections of their creators, and that true strength is found within each individual.”
The single “idoldust,” mixed and mastered by Matt Thomas, follows Pridian’s previous release, “Near Dark.” Released in September, “Near Dark” marked the band’s debut with their new label, Century Media Records. You can check out the video for their first single here.

There is a new force on the horizon: Century Media Records is excited to announce the signing of the Estonian metalcore band PRIDIAN. Their new single “Near Dark” unleashes just a glimpse of what is to come as it marks the first single for PRIDIAN’s upcoming album with Century Media Records to be released in spring 2025. Stream the single now HERE & watch the video HERE.
The four-piece metalcore band PRIDIAN, originally from Tartu, Estonia, embarked on their musical journey in 2018. Drawing inspiration from experiences and emotions around them, PRIDIAN craft a sound characterized by heavy, dark grooves, powerful vocals, and cinematic melodies, all infused with electronic elements. Their debut album The Rotten Unknown (released in 2021 under the name ÆØNS) was nominated for the “Metal Album of The Year” award by the Estonian Music Awards. The successful debut album was then followed by the 2023 EP Cybergnosis. PRIDIAN’s lineup consists of Jörg-Erik Hanikat and Martin Randalu on guitars, Robert Leht on drums, and Laur Lindmäe on vocals.
The band shares about the signing: “We are thrilled to announce that we have signed a record deal with Century Media Records, marking a significant step forward in PRIDIAN’s journey. Many of our musical tastes have been shaped by the very bands signed to this label, making this a true full-circle moment for us. As an up-and-coming band from Estonia’s small but growing metal scene, we are incredibly proud to help pave the way for Estonian metal and show the world what PRIDIAN has to offer.”
Mike Gitter, Century Media VP of A&R, adds: “We’re excited to be involved with PRIDIAN at this early stage in their career. An incredibly forward-thinking and visionary band from Estonia, PRIDIAN represents what Century Media has been great at since the beginning: identifying and being a part of the growth and journey of long-time career bands, many of whom have been with us since their beginnings. PRIDIAN has the best aspects of that with a furious future ahead of them.”
PRIDIAN’s Century Media debut single “Near Dark”, mixed and mastered by Matt Thomas who also worked with bands such as KINGDOM OF GIANTS, features the band’s signature sound while exploring themes around dissolution in life.
PRIDIAN’s vocalist Laur shares about the single: “This track symbolizes the complete dissolution of the self. Once you understand that you are nothing, it becomes powerfully liberating. “Near Dark” delves into the depths of pain, feelings of insignificance, and the struggle for identity. Through metaphors of nature and decay, the song expresses a longing to shed personal suffering and become part of something greater. It embodies the desire to bury the past, find renewal, and surrender to life’s natural cycle. In this process of release and rebirth, “Near Dark” becomes a poignant meditation on transformation and the merging of self with the collective whole.”
PRIDIAN Live:
This fall, the ESTONIAN band is also slowly making their way through Europe’s live stages: Sep 20th, they were part of TECH FEST in Helsinki, their first show ever in Finland, where they shared the stage with DISTANT, ASSEMBLE THE CHARIOTS, ENEMIES EVERYWHERE, and CHRONOFORM. On the same weekend, they also supported DISTANT’s headline show in Tallinn, Estonia, a day later. PRIDIAN will have their first ever show in Germany at the famous EUROBLAST FESTIVAL in Cologne on Saturday, October 5th. They will be joining bands such as CALIGULA’S HORSE, KYROS, CHAOSBAY, and AVALANCHE EFFECT.
