With only a couple of days to go before the release of the new EP from legendary Norwegian Black Metallers HADES ALMIGHTY,  Metal Hammer and Dark Essence Records have come together to stream the three-track EP in its entirety.   The digi EP,  titled “Pyre Era, Black!”, which is set for release on the 23rd October, can be heard at this location.

“Pyre Era, Black!” represents a taste of what fans can expect from the band’s fifth full-length album, which will appear on Dark Essence Records next year, and marks the first studio release from the band since 2001.  Still present in the sound are the pitch black, epic overtones that set HADES ALMIGHTY apart from other bands, and now new elements have been added to that unique sound, including outstanding vocals from new frontman Ask Ty (KAMPFAR, KRAKOW).

Although things  on the recording front may have been quiet in the fourteen years since the release of HADES ALMIGHTY’s  fourth full-length album, “The Pulse of Decay”, the band itself has been  relatively active on the live scene.  Formed in 1992, by guitarist Jorn (ex-DOMINANZ, ex-OLD FUNERAL, ex-IMMORTAL, ex-AMPUTATION), drummer Remi and then-frontman and bassist Janto (who left the band last year on good terms), HADES ALMIGHTY was originally called HADES, but was forced to change the name in 1998 due to the existence of another band with the same name in the USA.

The new HADES ALMIGHTY’s lineup will make its live debut in the Netherlands at the Aurora Infernalis festival in Arnhem on the 24th October,  followed by an appearance at Bergen’s Black Metal and Tattoo festival BlekkMetal in Bergen on the 13th November
