REIGN is a band with deep roots, going back more than a decade ago in East Texas. Through the years, names have changed and players have come and gone, but one thing has remained constant; Reign has been poised at the forefront of the Texas music scene and throughout the South. Now, Reign prepares to release ‘I Don’t Want to Live’, worldwide in mid-March as they ready the debut of a new record for a late summer release in 2017. Check out the new video exclusive here on Metal Shock Finland:
Formerly known as Magdalene, REIGN now consists of Peter Sirianni (lead guitar), Mike Dick (rhythm guitar), Chuck Pierce (bass), Mak Saigusa (drums), and Ian Chandler (lead vocals). The band is a sonic powerhouse whose creative talents and diverse musical influences have been forged into a unique brand of hard rock.
‘I Don’t Want to Live’ was recorded and mixed by Mak Saigusa at the band’s studio in Tyler, TX and was mastered by David Castell. “This song is one of our first attempts at creating together. It started simple, then evolved into a completely sincere statement of raw emotion, and prefaces a harder and more energetic sound that will be known as Reign,” said Ian Chandler.
Vocalist Ian also added; “I’m not a fan of having myself recorded, but Mak is supportive and encouraging in the studio. It’s nice to have unlimited tries on a song, without racking up huge studio costs. Heck, some things have been written, and even re-written from the original, in our little studio.”

For the video, Reign recruited Texas producer/directer Justin Mosley at Dark Letter Entertainment (http://www.darkletter.com) to bring the band’s video to life. Justin, wrote, produced and directed the film, “The Devil’s Deal”, which was recently released
internationally through Lionsgate (Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation) and the trailer can be viewed here:
“The Devil’s Deal” is a western/horror film with a premise that revolves around an the old western town in an old western time. The plot involves the return of a missing clergyman who calls a ceremony, causing the townspeople to be thrust into a night of madness and death. The remaining townspeople must fight to keep not just their lives, but their very souls.
The ‘I Don’t Want to Live’ video was filmed in Tyler, Texas and really helps to convey the band’s powerful performance delivery. “Justin and crew were patient, fun, professional, and super creative. I enjoyed putting our heads together to come up with
some little ideas that turned out to make incredible shots in the video. Shout out and thumbs up to Dark Letter Entertainment,” said bassist Chuck Pierce.
