RIOT V Release Lyric Video For Third Single ‘Messiah’

Cult New York heavy metal band and godfathers of power metal, RIOT V, will release their 16th album entitled “Armor Of Light”, on April 27th via Nuclear Blast. Today, the band is pleased to release an official lyric video for the third single, ‘Messiah’. The video can be viewed, here:

Don Van Stavern stated: “I was figuring since it’s the 30th anniversary of »Thundersteel« I would create a song in that vibe! It’s kind of like ‘Thundersteel’ 1,000 miles per hour!”

Todd Michael Hall added: “The lyrics are intended to capture the excitement associated with the coming of the savior.”

RIOT V Release New Video “Heart Of A Lion”, To Tour With PRIMAL FEAR In September/October

Cult New York heavy metal band and godfathers of power metal, RIOT V, will release their 16th album entitled, “Armor Of Light”, on April 27th via Nuclear Blast. Now the band has unleashed the official video clip of the second single “Heart Of A Lion”. The video was filmed in New York and was produced by acclaimed director Kyle Monroe from Ryk3r Productions!

Don Van Stavern states:
“One of my traditional sounding DVS RIOT tunes! Beautifully intricate with a great vocal delivery, bombastic drums, string patterns from hell and a great hooky sing-a-long chorus! The video captures the lyrical story line and the awesome playmenship of the band. I’m really jazzed about this one!”

Todd Michael Hall adds:
“My idea and lyrical content for “Heart of a Lion” is about Richard the Lion Heart. He was known as an incredible Warrior and military leader, but he also gave into his weaknesses, much like our leaders of today. Ultimately, his hubris lead to his untimely death.”

Cult New York heavy metal band and godfathers of power metal, RIOT V, will release their 16th album entitled, “Armor Of Light”, on April 27th via Nuclear Blast.

Today, the band is pleased to release the first trailer for this upcoming masterpiece. Check it out and find out more about “Armor Of Light”:

The album will be available on colored vinyl (black, silver, red) 2-LP in gatefold and as a limited CD-Digipak-Edition, both including the two bonus tracks „Unbelief“ as well as a new recorded verison of their classic hymn „Thundersteel“.

The Digipak CD also includes a 13 track bonus CD, recorded at the legendary German “Keep It Ture Festival” 2015. The bonus CD was mixed and mastered by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann at Greenman Studios (http://www.greenman-studios.de)

“Fight or Fall” is a multi-part documentary, it tells the complex tale of the RIOT story and also follows RIOT V as they tour, the USA, Canada with festivals in Japan and Europe.

Part 2 is released on November 8, 2017 (The ammoversary of former vocalist Guy Speranza’s passing) and covers the Fire Down Under Era, Guy Speranza’s quitting band and the Rhett Forester years.

Filmmaker Jimmy Kay had this to say about the project, “There is no other documentary out there that explains the Riot story and legacy in complete detail like”Fight or Fall.” Kay continued “The final shoot date for the documentary will be on the anniversary of Mark Reale’s passing January 24 2018 (midnite Jan 25) at the Hall of Heavy Metal History induction ceremonies for Riot, which happened all by coincidence, believe it or not?”

Giles Lavery co-producer concluded, “The story of Riot is one of the most unique and inspiring in the history of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal, the story has many twists and turns along the way, but the songs were and are always at forefront as some of the best in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal.”
