SAVAGE MESSIAH were picked by a panel of music industry experts to receive funding from the BPI Music Export Growth Scheme for European tour support and promotion/marketing in 2014. The grant itself caused a lot of controversy as to whether tax payers money should be spent in this way, especially on a heavy metal ’thrash’ band. Following this the band appeared in a host of national newspapers, plus Sky News and Channel 4 news too.

UK thrash giants ONSLAUGHT have been announced as the final Headliner of this year’s HEADBANGERS BALLS tour.
After incredible reviews for their latest album VI and a storming international tour ONSLAUGHT are a band that are once again ripping up venues around Europe. The thrash legends head up an eclectic mix of rock and metal at all day show at The Flapper in Birmingham on 6th December. ONSLAUGHT join headliners FLESHROT London 15th November, SAVAGE MESSIAH Manchester 8th November and BULL RIFF STAMPEDE Gloucester, 13th December in leading the four main all day shows making up this years exciting tour.
Andy Pilkington of the HEADBANGERS BALLS said “we’re truly honoured that the ONSLAUGHT boys see us as a worthwhile cause. They’ll be leading an already exceptional line up including main support act Beholder, Martyr De Mona, Warlord UK, Morgue Orgy, Left For Red, Reign of Fury and more. We’re dedicated to making this show an exciting blend of old masters and newest talent from the area, following our blueprint in 2014 of showcasing the best each area has to offer.”
The HEADBANGERS BALLS have teamed up with the BEARDFEST festival to host the Birmingham event. BEARDFEST will be helping to raise money for Teen Cancer Trust and with ONSLAUGHT on board as headliner, this is one event that will be a highlight of the metal calendar in 2014.
Earache Record’s SAVAGE MESSIAH have powered their way on the European scene with a reputation for highly charged live shows, and will lead an exceptional rock lineup including Collibus, Babylon Fire, I.C.O.N, Line of Fire, and the immense talent of Massive Wagons among others. The show is in partnership with Viper events.
Death metal masters FLESHROT, newly re-formed for 2014, join a London show partnered with Chaotic Tapestry Management, who represent several of the bands on the bill such as Taunton’s Flayed Disciple, Virus, Meta-Stasis, One For Sorrow and new boys on the block Reprisal. Also announced for this brutal billing are Morgue Orgy, and of course the hosts of the tour Reign of Fury. The show will cater for even the heaviest tastes and is sure to make it’s mark in one of the best young music venues in London, Boston Music Rooms.
BULL RIFF STAMPEDE, one of the UK’s hottest thrash metal properties, lead a Gloucester show at new venue OLYMPUS THEATRE in partnership with Nerva Events, bringing a much needed hub to one of the most vibrant metal regions in the UK. Reign of Fury will be playing to their first home crowd on a Headbangers Balls date, and with bands such as Seprevation, Lifer, and Hellbound this will be the biggest collection of South West talent seen on one lineup for some time.
The tour will also be teaming up with several local promoters to take in in several free warm-up shows leading up to the all day events, with bands like Anihilated, Collapse and Spirytus on board.
To date the Headbangers Balls project has raised over £12,000 for Teenage Cancer Trust, and this year has seen its supporters even more involved than ever with the Hairy Balls Challenge raising over £5000, and their Kickstarter Campaign release of the 2014 compilation album reaching the funding target it just 3 hours.

SAVAGE MESSIAH are auctioning off Joff Bailey‘s Schecter V-1 custom Diamond series guitar, with all proceeds will go to the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy (Registered Charity no. 280960) as part of a pledge campaign started by Dave Silver (Singer and guitarist from the band) for doing a charity bike ride entitled ‘Heavy Metal Truants’. Dave rode 161 miles from Alexandra Palace in London, to Donington Park to join everyone at the Download Festival.

As such, they have offered Joff’s actual Schecter V-1 custom Diamond series SIGNED by the band. You can see the guitar being used in the official video for “All Seeing I” below, taken from their Earache debut, “Plague Of Conscience”:
