Irish Rocker Rob Mancini has parted ways with Portuguese SCAR FOR LIFE, read his statement below:

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce my departure from the band SCAR FOR LIFE. With social media in mind and all the dramas around it, I’d love to tell you that we fell out, fought, killed each other over musical or lyrical content, but there is no such thing like that. I had a great, if not the best time ever, performing with some guys that I now can call not just band mates, but some real close friends. I am at a point where I am booked up in 2016 and half way through 2017 and I feel I can’t be 100% in SCAR FOR LIFE or contribute the way the band deserves to be treated, so the logical decision is to leave the band. Working with Alex was more than a pleasure.I worked with a colleague and met a true friend – I wish the band and everyone in it all the best, god speed and may we meet on the road some day again….

The Idea:
In times of mp3, digital media and internet, artists are struggling with poor sales.
Alternative ways to be “tangible” for fans on a long term basis, especially with a physical product are extremely sought after and highly in demand.
Metal/Rock lovers are a highly dedicated fan base with a keen interest in “their” bands. Collection and merchandise is gaining high popularity among those fans. “Cooking Rocks” covers multiple angles: It will offer private information about a band that may not have been known before (band or individual band member cooking) and can be used as exclusive merchandise article – preferably signed – with possibilities to evolve into a highly sought after collectible item.
There are a lot of young, new bands on the market facing serious limitations on finding a new audience and music listeners are dealing with a saturated market, mostly going for bands that will “stand-out from the crowd”. Cooking Rocks” can serve as the right medium to be one of the “stand-out” bands/artists.
The Book:
176 pages, high quality print in colour with many illustrations (Bands and recipes) and 2 Audio CDs (sealed inlay).
1 page of band bio and background, 1 page of private “insider information”, valuable to loyal fans that like to get a “behind the scenes” view and insight into the private life and hobbies of the artist/band and 1 song on a sampler CD inserted in the book.
We’re planning for a total of 30 Bands.
We will also have a dash of well known bands as an extended special – meaning – those will feature 8 pages, throwing all sorts of personal knives and forks at you!
To finalize the course of the book we will add a hint of certain products or companies associated with Rock&Metal.

Portugal’s hard rockers SCAR FOR LIFE have premiered a new video and single “Wish You Well”, taken from the band’s latest effort “Worlds Entwined”, which came out in 2014. This new work was mixed and mastered by Swedish producer Martin Kronlund and features special guests such as Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH / DIO), Mikael Carlsson (LOVER UNDER COVER) and Neil Fraser (TEN).

Melodic rock metal act SCAR FOR LIFE was formed by guitarist Alexandre Santos in 2008, releasing in the following years 3 full-length albums, one Live album and a Compilation. The latest effort, titled “Worlds Entwined” came out in 2014, released by British label Escape Music. This new work was mixed by Swedish producer Martin Kronlund and features special guests such as Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH / DIO), Mikael Carlsson (LOVER UNDER COVER) and Neil Fraser (TEN). A lyric video was also released for the single ‘Thirteen Revolution’. At the beginning of 2015 the band signed an exclusive management deal with Agentur EAM Event And Artist Management, and now, as we speak, SCAR FOR LIFE is preparing to a busy year with touring and festival appearances.
A couple of weeks ago Tarja Virmakari had a chance to interview SCAR FOR LIFE‘s vocalist Rob Mancini, talking about him joining the band, and of course about “Worlds Entwined”, the recent signing with Agentur EAM and about the future touring and plans. Our new album, “Worlds Entwined” has been out since the end of August 2014. After months of doing promotion and interviews we want to PLAY our songs FOR YOU – LIVE and somewhere near your hometown. Help us to get on tour!
Does €15000 seem a lot of money for you? It certainly does for us. We know how hard you have to work for your money and we don’t take that for granted. This goal will help cover moving this band forward – to play decent shows in decent venues. It’s important to us! We want to perform our music top notch without scaling down on equipment, stage size and stage show.
Our philosophy is: We want to give our fans a run for their money – We want them to go home after a show and say: HELL YES! For weeks to come. Wake up the next morning with a ring in your ear and still flashes in your eyes from the fireworks.
If by some miracle we exceed that goal, there is a lot of room to do those things better, for longer, and in more parts of the world. But we’ll talk about that bridge if we come to it. It’s ALL or NOTHING. If we don’t reach our goal, all pledges will be refunded!

About SCAR FOR LIFE:
Guitarist Alexandre Santos started his new venture SCAR FOR LIFE in 2008, creating songs from the most vitriolic, groovy assaults to soft acoustic pieces, embracing all the influences that make them emotional and powerful. With soulful rock singer Marco Resende and drummer / producer Daniel Cardoso (now in ANATHEMA), the debut album “SCAR FOR LIFE” was recorded at Ultra Sound System and Press Play Music Studios and released in 2008. After playing several shows and acoustic showcases around the country, a live album ‘Live & Acoustic” was released for a limited amount of time on digital stores. With their newest addition to the line up, bass player Sales, SCAR FOR LIFE returned to Ultra Sound studios in May 2010 to record the follow up album “IT ALL FADES AWAY”. The media reaction surpassed all expectations by considering “IT ALL FADES AWAY” Album Of The Year on Brazilian COLLECTOR’S ROOM Webzine, and on the top 10 Portuguese metal album of the year on several Webzines.
“3 MINUTE SILENCE”, the 3rd album of SCAR FOR LIFE, was recorded in the beginning of 2012 at Press Play Studio and released in September via INFEKTION RECORDS. This album, featuring the new line up additions João Colaço (ex-MORE THAN A THOUSAND) on drums, as well as guests such as violinist Anne Victorino d’Almeida, finnish singer Kari Vahakuopus (CATAMENIA) and British keyboarder Ged Rylands (ex-TEN) was by far the most ambitious work of the band, exploring a heavier, but yet more melodic side of SFL, adding a new layer to the band’s live performances. A video was filmed in Canada for the single ‘Old Man’ by director Dustin Warnock. 5 years into their career, in 2013, SCAR FOR LIFE released a compilation album entitled “RETROSPECTIVE” for free download on the official website featuring one new instrumental track. The new track (Retrospective) was again written and mixed by Alexandre Santos, featuring guest musicians Neil Fraser (TEN) and Neil Murray (WHITESNAKE, BLACK SABBATH). An accompanying video, directed again by Dustin Warnock, was released at the same time and SCAR FOR LIFE promoted the compilation with live performances in London and Portugal.
ALBUM / SINGLE
2013 was also the year for some major line up changes. Tëën Asty joined the band on bass guitar and in search for a singer the band confirmed in August that Rob Mancini (HOTWIRE, CRUSH) has joined SCAR FOR LIFE as their new lead vocalist after which the band immediately began writing for a new album.
SCAR FOR LIFE finished recording 12 new tracks for their fourth album “WORLDS ENTWINED” featuring a number of special guests such as Vinnie Appice (BLACK SABBATH, DIO), Neil Fraser (TEN, RAGE OF ANGELS), Michael Carlsson (LOVER UNDER COVER) and Anne Victorino d’Almeida in March 2014 and got promptly signed to ESCAPE MUSIC in the UK. The band’s new opus was mixed and mastered by Swedish producer Martin Kronlund at JM Recording Studio Sweden.
