Greece’s Rock Overdose spoke with Scorpions drummer James Kottak about the landmark events.
Rock Overdose: You have played in huge venues in Greece in front of massive crowds. Why did you choose a significantly smaller venue like the Lycabettus Theater? And why three concerts?
James Kottak: “Well, the show we bring is intimate and we wanted a more personal setting than a stadium. We are filming for RTL, MTV Unplugged and other media, so we film two out of the three nights to get the best of the best performance!”
Rock Overdose: Are you going to play different material each day? Will you also include songs you usually don’t play or have never played live? Give us some directions for the songs you will play.
James Kottak: “Of course we will play many of the Scorpions classics, but, we will also visit many of the songs we have wanted to play from the past but just haven’t had the opportunity. There will also be debut of a few brand new songs as well! We are soooo excited!”
Rock Overdose: It is going to be one of the greatest live moments the Greek fans are going to experience and a great honor that you will record this material and release it worldwide. Please give a message to the Greek fans, that are really eager for this.
James Kottak: “Returning to Greece is like magic. We are one with all of our Greek friends and look forward to celebrating three wonderful nights in a celebration of Scorpions music!”
