The album features high class guest musicians (Mikko Kotamäki / Swallow The Sun, Thomas A.G. Jensen / Saturnus, Elisabetta Marchetti / INNO), and takes the listener on a journey through the process of grieving, which is inspired by the five stages of grief formulated by Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.

The album features high class guest musicians (Mikko Kotamäki / Swallow The Sun and Thomas A.G. Jensen / Saturnus), and takes the listener on a journey through the process of grieving, which is inspired by the five stages of grief formulated by Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. “Beyond the Shores (Excerpt II)” showcases the pain, horror, and feelings of despair a person goes through while musically bringing a darkened sound, which enhances the feelings of loss.

Says the band:”Our new work consists of a single 38-minute-long track and can be considered as a sort of digression from our music production. It stems from the need to delve more into the darkest side of our sound, experimenting new solutions yet remaining faithful to our musical identity. With this second excerpt we reveal 5 more minutes, showing a further aspect, this time faster and harder of the previous one, with the precious help of Martina L. McLean on the screaming vocals.”

Spikerot Records has launched the pre-orders of SHORES OF NULL‘s third work “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)”, a 38 minute-long suite emphasizing their heavier, slower and dramatic side, inspired by the five stages of grief formulated by the Swiss-American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross.

Today SHORES OF NULL also reveal the first excerpt of the full track, featuring the angelic voice of Elisabetta Marchetti from Italian gothic doom metallers INNO and Mikko Kotamäki from Finnish death/doom lords  SWALLOW THE SUN. Frontman Davide Straccione comments: “It ain’t been an easy task to choose this small fraction we are presenting today. While the song goes deep into the darkest depths of despair ever reached by Shores Of Null, this first excerpt shows the most ethereal side of the album, the duet between me and Elisabetta and the following chorus with both of us plus Mikko, still give me goosebumps at every listen. I still can’t believe we managed to create such a beautiful alchemy”.

Italian Blackened Gothic Doom unit SHORES OF NULL have revealed the guests that will appear on their new album “Beyond The Shores (On Death And Dying)”, to be released in November 2020 via Spikerot Records. The band has teamed up with Mikko Kotamäki (Swallow The Sun), Thomas A.G. Jensen (Saturnus) and Elisabetta Marchetti (Inno), for what can be considered their most ambitious work to date.

Deviating from their highly praised predecessors “Quiescence” and “Black Drapes For Tomorrow”, this new gloomy opus enhances the heavier, slower and dramatic parts, instilled in a single-track of nearly 40 minutes.

The band explains:
“If the shore is the limit, going beyond the shores means tearing down the limits. Musically speaking we tried to leave our comfort zone and experiment with just one long song, something that is not new to many Doom Metal bands but surely new to us. From a lyrical point of view the album deals with the different stages of grief and how the terminally ill deal with their own death. Going beyond the shores is finding peace in death”.
