SKINNER, the solo band featuring “The Metal Chameleon” Norman Skinner have released a 3rd single & lyric video for their song “Wicked Whys” from the upcoming album “The Dark Design” which is to be released Spring 2023.
Norman Skinner comments:
“I had planned to release a few singles and videos off the album and this song was one of the top choices from the beginning. It’s a very straight-ahead rocking tune with a lot of great melody and a catchy chorus. The song itself is about discovering one is in a relationship with a very dishonest and manipulative person. However, when trying to exit the relationship the other person suddenly says the right words and shows the proper emotions but it’s truly all a façade. In the end it’s hard to comprehend why a person acts the way they do and I’m sure some listeners will be able to relate with this song.
Skinner has released the singles “How Many Ways I Can Die” & “In Silence” and plan to release at least 1 more before the full album is made available.

SKINNER, the solo band featuring “The Metal Chameleon” Norman Skinner have released a new 2nd single “How Many Ways I Can Die” from the upcoming album “The Dark Design” which is to be released later this year.
Norman Skinner comments:
“This was the first piece of music I had received from guitarist Abel III and was one of the 1st few to ultimately be written for the new album. An absolutely rocking track that blends heaviness and melody which is what I was going for when putting this new album together. The song describes the feeling of learning that one was manipulated and ultimately betrayed in a relationship and the crushing feeling that follows.”
Earlier this month, Skinner released their 1st single & lyric video for the song “In Silence“.

Norman comments:
“This new album has been a work in progress for the last 7 or 8 years. Fortunately for me I had been busy all that time releasing albums with Niviane, Hellscream, Imagika and Dire Peil. So my own new Skinner release always seemed to have to be placed on hold. Finally, it is completed, and fans now get a 1st taste of what is to come starting with the single “In Silence”. This album has definitely been a labor of love and in my opinion one of the best releases I have been a part of to date. I am honored to have worked with such fantastic talent on these tracks and believe my fans will absolutely love this new album.”

The upcoming effort features 12 all new original tracks infused with elements of power, thrash & modern metal currently being slotted for a Summer 2020 release.
The Dark Design is being engineered by Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish \ Machine Head) of Castle Ultimate Productions.
Norman comments regarding the new album:
“This will mark 6 years since the release of my 1st solo album “Sleepwalkers” and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic musicians on songs for this next release. Unfortunately, I had been extremely busy writing & recording albums with Niviane, Hellscream, Imagika & Dire Peril so my next solo release always took a back seat until now. 2020 is the year the album gets finished and released to the Metal masses!”

“Sleepwalkers”, the new video from SF Bay Area Power-Thrashers SKINNER, featuring Norman Skinner (Vocals), Robert Kolowitz (Guitars), Grant Kolowitz (Guitars), Alfred San Miguel (Guitars), Jim Pegram (Bass), & Noe Luna (Drums) can be seen below. The song is taken from SKINNER’s upcoming full-length album of the same title, “Sleepwalkers”, which will be released on May 6th, 2014 via Dead Inside Records.
SKINNER was formed from the fallout of the now defunct Power\Thrash band Imagika. Throughout the band’s history Imagika released 7 albums total worldwide and toured extensively before calling it a day in 2010. Taking its name from their lead vocalist; SKINNER combines both the European Power Metal sound with the high energy Thrash Attack of the SF Bay Area.
The video “Sleepwalkers” was directed by Mike Sloat (Testament\Machine Head) and depicts a struggle between two consciences. The first is a dream world where the individual sleepwalks through life doing as they are told completely unaware of the reality around them. The second is the horrible reality that not everything is as it seems and life can be hard and scary. The individual eventually is able to break free of the mold and think for himself.
“Sleepwalkers” is the title track off SKINNER’s upcoming full-length effort. The CD was engineered by Steve Pelletier @ Hellfire Studios in San Jose, CA & mastered by Jamie King @ The Basement Recording NC.
CD artwork courtesy of Jobert Mello of Sledgehammer Graphix can be seen below. Jobert has created artwork for bands such as Primal Fear, Sabaton, Shadowside & more.
