Italian metal talent MEDEA has issued the following short update:

I hereby announce the end of the collaboration between me and Solisia! After only a year I joined the band, with the enthusiasm of all, I was invited to sit outside the door by a message on facebook by the guitarist! … I thank everyone who supported us so far, I wish to Solisia the best! However, I will not for sure stay firm and I’m already at work for the next projects, which will be cominicated shortly. Stay tuned! www.myspace.com/solisia

SOLISIA confirms the split with their singer. An inappropriate method of communication was the result for various problems, throughout the year, related to the character differences between Roberta (Medea) and the rest of the band. The band wishes all the best for the future of Roberta, and will keep their fans informed on developments regarding the new album and the future replacement for Roberta. MEDEA was born in the province of Lecce (Italy) and already at the age of three she approached the music. She began to study piano and to compose her first songs at the age of five. At seven years she participated in her first singing contest “Il grappolo d’oro”, winning the first prize. At the age of fourteen, she met the master Tony Frassanito with whom she began to study singing. When she was 17, she recorded her first songs at Pan Pot Studio in Brindisi with the help of Anthony Bruno and Maurilio Mimmi and since then she’s participated in various competitions nationally…

Hello Medea, I’m Tarja. Welcome to Metal Shock! How are you?

Hi Tarja, thanks I’m fine!

Among all your merits, the latest one, was few weeks ago, when you were elected as “Miss Metal Archive” in the contest, organized by a Facebook group “Archivio Metallico Italiano”. Congrats! Tell me about this experience, which is a little bit out from the musical stage … And the title, how it will engage you this year?

In fact the competition was so fierce that I didn’t even considered a hypothetical title, but actually I got two of them, really, I must thank “Archivio Metallico Italiano” and all those who have commented and appreciated my contest-profile. It’s been a really fun and interesting experience, especially since the selection criteria focused primarily on the factor of character of the person, before the physical appearance! How do I commit myself? Um … I do not know what to do? haha .. jokes aside, I will endeavor to continue to deserve this title and not to disappoint the voters 🙂
