Not Metal Enough” is not a song, it’s a statement.

Soulbound are settling accounts with all those who want to pigeonhole metal into narrow categories. Between hammering riffs, biting humor and genre-busting material, there is a clear message: We are metal because we are different.  

An energetic call to all outsiders, border crossers and style breakers. For all those who have 
the courage to be themselves: loud, uncomfortable and unclassifiable. 

With “sYn” SOULBOUND present their most uncompromising work to date. The melodic industrial metal band’s fourth studio album strikes a dark, direct tone and remains as catchy as it is uncomfortable. Between brutal self-reckoning, social criticism and sacred exaltation, “sYn” spins a dense thematic thread around the central motif of sin – rethought, interpreted in many different ways and bitterly personal. 

Musically, the band remains true to itself: “sYn” combines hard riffs, brute synths, pounding beats and anthemic choruses. Somewhere between NDH, metalcore and electronically  distorted world pain. But instead of bold provocation, it’s about attitude. It’s about admitting to being fallible. About contradicting dogmas and wrestling with one’s own precipice. 

“If we’re considered sinners, might as well be it with purpose and flair!”, says the band. This is exactly how sYn sounds: raw, honest, angry, but also vulnerable. With “sYn”, SOULBOUND deliver a relentless opening to their new studio album. The track is anything but comfortable: loud, furious, and almost liturgical in its intensity. Blending heavy riffs, dark synths, and industrial elements, the band forges a sound that merges NDH, alternative metal, and electronic pathos, and makes a clear statement. 

Lyrically, “sYn” explores the modern idea of sin, not as a religious dogma, but as a reflection of societal responsibility. It confronts guilt, denial, and moral hypocrisy, a scream against a world that prefers silence over truth. 

“What if guilt doesn’t come from religion, but from everything we ignore?”, the band asks. “sYn” is their reckoning with inner darkness. Raw, direct, and unapologetic.

Soulbound unleashes with their fourth single “Burn” from the upcoming album “obsYdian,” a powerful declaration of war that redefines the boundaries between Industrial Metal and Dark Rock. “Burn” is a victory cry and a farewell to toxic adversaries. This energetic manifesto is for anyone who’s been underestimated or opposed – a call to believe in oneself and to steadfastly follow one’s path. Believe in yourself!

Welcome to “obsYdian”!

With dark elegance, full of reflection and with a certain harshness, this new album represents musically content and symbolically represents Soulbound’s journey through the last years – a journey through a spectrum of intense themes. These range from the intense confrontation with the musicians own inner demons demons to socially critical observations that continue to confront them with clear clarity about the serious consequences associated with this consequences, through to deep, introspective reflections on various personal personal themes, such as the subject of parting.

‘obsYdian’ for Soulbound stands for the cathartic experiences they have had as a band, but also individually. Come along and accompany them on their musical journey. The musicians have realized that in the that confronting their own inner conflicts not only provides challenges, but can be found, but also comfort and understanding. The songs on “obsYdian” serve Soulbound like a multifaceted mirror, which, in the process of confrontation, shows us both the band’s dark sides as well as the possibilities for healing and protection – in the spirit of the protective properties that are attributed to the dark properties that the dark stone obsidian is said to have.

Soulbound see in the symbolism obsidian a perfect metaphor for their work as musicians: Dark, mysterious, reflective, protective, transformative, clear and honest, deep and strong. “obsYdian” is not just an album for them; it is an expression of their development, their way of seeing.
