SOUR BLOOD is an alternative rock band from Poznań, Poland.

On November 21, 2025, band Sour Blood already released brand new song “Elegy” together with video done by Maciej Gensler from costamwyszlo. Song is also available for listening at popular streaming platforms. “Elegy” was produced by Konrad Janiszewski (Heresy Denied, Stayfires, Kansha). 

In “Elegy”, such a situation is portrayed — a constant sense of insufficiency, while suddenly the situation takes a positive turn. In terms of music, “Elegy” is an acoustic guitar based ballad, played with just a few simple chords while the rhythm is driven by basic strumming. This song is exactly that: brings out a softer and gentler side of Sour Blood.

Band comments new single:

“Change often comes with anxiety or fear, yet it can also be incredibly exciting. A new perspective can make our past struggles and pain lose their meaning. We may be ready to risk everything, to put it all on one card. It’s a feeling in our bones that says: this is the best choice. The best moment.

The price of passing time. Occasional doubts. What if it all crumbles and disappears? Have the years of adaptation and growth been enough to turn the paralyzing silence of fear into a chant of joy and victory?

Sometimes, the outcome of the hardest months and years is a lifetime spent appreciating the good.
At other times, the consequence of the most wonderful moment is a lesson that stays with us forever.

Band comments: “Damaging Control deals with the ups and downs in life and psychological mechanisms such as deflection, repression, or fury. We use them to seemingly make our life easier, while more often than not, those turn out to be double-edged swords. You can also find a reference to control abuse, as well as very much weakened, but still existing power to break away from the bonds of the past to achieve a peaceful and stable tomorrow. Often, despite tarnished patience, a gnawed soul and loss of hope, we push forward. Perhaps under the next page torn from the book of life there is something more than disappointment and pain. Perhaps… there is hope.

On the other hand, not to be so damn serious all the time, we made a completely ridiculous video to place the rather morose lyrics in juxtaposition to rather funny visuals. We hope you have as much fun watching it as we had making it“.

On February 28, 2025, Sour Blood released a brand new song “The Nameless” together with video revealing band line-up. Song is also available for listening at popular streaming platforms. “The Nameless” was produced by Konrad Janiszewski (Heresy Denied, Stayfires, Kansha).

Band comments: “What we want to achieve artistically is explore various genres and keep our music interesting and relevant. There are no limits to it, and as much as there are directions which are very natural for us like guitar-driven rock, there is so much more to music and, hopefully, we will do justice to all of our tastes and ambitions one day. With every newly released single, we aspire to relay new emotions and sounds to enrich our musical landscapes. It’s a lot of fun to play with fresh ideas and allow yourself to reinvent that idea over and over.
We like to compare our music to old TV series and the concept of having a different adventure every week. A “monster of the week” sort of thing. That being said, being in a band is twice as fun if you can still surprise yourself, in contrast to following a very specific formula and sound. Hopefully, every now and again we will be able to surprise our listeners too, and make them wonder what comes next.“

“The Nameless is a song which practically wrote itself. Music came first very quickly, and along with the moody atmosphere soon a subject matter followed. It revolves around conflict and acceptance. As you listen to the song or read the lyrics, it may at first seem it’s about a past relationship. And you would be right to think so – that’s the package for the broader concept and message. In more general terms, it’s a story of one’s past belonging to oneself. You may be at peace with it and think you are in control; however, it will come after you at various points in life and rarely are you prepared for the emotional baggage it may bring. We think that everyone wants to believe that the decisions they made were right. On the other hand, you could have enjoyed something which you eventually realized was wrong. After this experience, are you smarter now, or would you do this over again hoping for a different outcome? At the end of the day, we are all just trying to do our best.” – Witold added.

“Here Not Waken” is a song about awakening and the long and winding road to it. It’s hard, but it still lets us make our choices. We all tend to have ideas about our lives and how to read its chapters – some of them ought to be closed, other started. In this story we are the toughest critics and we often don’t agree with our own judgment. Either way, the verdict itself and when we are ready for it is up to us and the relationship we have with our own psyche.
