We are thrilled to share the new single from husband-and-wife power duo Suzy Starlite & Simon Campbell: an ambitious, kickass seven-minute modern blues-rock tribute to the legendary Robert Johnson.
THE STORY
Robert Johnson’s original 1930s recording of Ramblin’ On My Mind speaks to the universal human impulse to escape, seek self-discovery, and hit the road. This theme deeply resonated with Starlite & Campbell, making the track feel as relevant today as it was nearly a century ago.
“Everyone, at some point, has felt the itch to escape… that feeling of having ‘ramblin’ on your mind’ is a fundamental part of the human experience.” – Simon Campbell
THE SOUND
The duo elevates this Delta classic with their signature explosive blues-rock intensity and a stellar lineup:
- Simon Campbell – Guitar, vocals
- Suzy Starlite – Bass guitar
- Jonny Henderson – Hammond organ (recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios, Wales)
- Steve Gibson – Drums
THE VIDEO: A blues pilgrimage

This track offers a powerful blend of blues history and contemporary rock production – produced by Simon Campbell and mastered by Jon Astley.
“This road trip was truly life-changing,” says Suzy Starlite. “It was more than just visiting landmarks; it was about connecting with the roots of the music and the wonderful people who keep the flame alive. The video captures that energy—it’s a visual representation of the ramblin’ that led us to this tribute.”
