SATAN, STORMWITCH, EXXPLORER, TYRANT and NIGHT DEMON are Confirmed For Metal Assault Festival V.

Classic US Heavy Metal act EXXPLORER will celebrate 30th anniversary of the “Symphonies Of Steel” album, live on stage in its original line up. The band will appear on the METAL ASSAULT FESTIVAL, scheduled for January 31, 2015. Festival will take place in Posthalle in Wurzburg, Germany. Other recently confirmed acts that will play at fifth edition of METAL ASSAULT are: New Wave Of British Heavy Metal icons SATAN, legendary German act STORMWITCH who announced new album for early 2015, British underground Heavy Metal cult act TYRANT, and the American classic Metal newcomers NIGHT DEMON, who also announced new album for early 2015.

STORMWITCH Sign With Massacre Records, To Release New Album

STORMWITCH

German legendary metallers STORMWITCH have signed with Massacre Records and are going to release their new album “Season Of The Witch” in early 2015!

The band was formed in the early 80’s and released its debut album “Walpurgis Night” in 1984. With the release of their 4th album “Beauty And The Beast” in 1987, which featured the band’s first ballad, the fans soon referred to them as the masters of black romantic.

The band’s 7th album “Shogun” should be the last for the next few years since STORMWITCH decided to disband in 1996. In 2004, the band briefly returned and released the album “Witchcraft” but split up again shortly after. In 2010, STORMWITCH were finally back again with a new line-up.

Meanwhile, the band’s line-up consists of Vocalist Andy Mück, guitarists Ralf Stoney and Volker Schmietow, bassist Jürgen Wannenwetsch and drummer Micha Kasper, who recently replaced Peter Langer who left the band due to private reasons.

STORMWITCH were always known for their memorable live shows and played numerous club shows as well as festival gigs worldwide and toured with bands such as Killer or Krokus.

STORMWITCH wrote history, but are still bursting with new ideas.

Original STORMWITCH Guitarist HARALD ‘LEE TAROT’ SPENGLER Dies

Harald “Lee Tarot” Spengler, the original guitarist for legendary German metallers STORMWITCH, died on April 11 at the age of 50 after suffering a stroke.

Spengler was a member of STORMWITCH from 1979 to 1989 and he appeared on the band’s first five releases: “Walpurgis Night” (1984), “Tales Of Terror” (1985), “Stronger Than Heaven” (1986), “The Beauty And The Beast” (1988) and “Eye Of The Storm” (1989)

STORMWITCH released the following message regarding Spengler‘s passing: “[On Thursday] we got the message that Harald Spengler (Lee Tarot) had a stroke. We are very sad about this message. Our thoughts are with it, his family and members.”

Formed in 1979 under the name LEMON SYLVAN, STORMWITCH‘s lyrics often focused on fantasy, occult and historical themes. They performed at Wacken Open Air festival in 2002. Over time, they changed their sound from a JUDAS PRIEST-esque style of heavy metal to a more keyboard-based form of power metal.
