SWEET once again present fans with two re-releases of rare and sought-after albums on Metalville.

With ‘Sweetlife’ in 2002, SWEET returned to its old form with the line-up of Andy Scott, Steve Grant, Jeff Brown and Bruce Bisland. The album offers eleven outstanding AOR songs. Highlights include ‘Do It All Over Again’, ‘You’re Crazy’ and ‘Leap Of Faith’.

Long out of print and sought after by many fans, the album is finally back in stores on CD and vinyl.

 ‘Live At The Marquee’ was recorded at London’s Marquee Club in February 1986, shortly before the legendary venue closed its doors for good. The SWEET line-up at the time consisted of original members Andy Scott (lead guitar) and Mick Tucker (drums) as well as Paul Mario Day (ex-Iron Maiden) as lead singer, bassist Mal McNulty (Slade) and Phil Lanzon (Uriah Heep) on keyboards. At this concert, the band presented a heavier sound without losing the energy and appeal of the classic hits and anthems.

‘Live At The Marquee’ is a rare gem in SWEET’s catalogue and is now being re-released on CD and Vinyl.

The extremely rare SWEET album ‘Sweet Fanny Adams Revisited’(recorded live in 2012), which has been out of print for some time and is highly coveted by fans, will be re-released on CD by Metalville on 8 August, 2025. A vinyl version of the album will also be released for the first time.

Between 2010 and 2012, many SWEET shows were recorded in various countries and ‘Sweet Fanny Adams Revisited’ (recorded at a concert in 2012) delivers the very essence of these extraordinary performances.

The success of the original 1973 album ‘Sweet Fanny Adams’ was the catalyst that propelled SWEET to worldwide superstar status.

As a live performance almost 40 years after the release of the original album, ‘Sweet Fanny Adams Revisited’ offers the finest SWEET Hard Rock. The band around Andy Scott presents itself in top form and impressively transports the special magic of the highly commercial power songs back to the stage.

SWEET’s “Platinum Rare 2” will be released on July 25th on Metalville – The album is another rarity from the band’s catalogue and will now be available in stores worldwide for the first time.

Following on from “Platinum Rare 1” comes another collection of extremely rare SWEET songs from Andy Scott’s private collection. All tracks on “Platinum Rare 2” were recorded by the four original members of the glam/hard rock legend and are therefore a real highlight of any SWEET collection.

“Platinum Rare 2” was originally released as a strictly limited version for the US Record Store and is now available worldwide for the first time on LP and CD.

SWEET’s ‘Level Headed Alternate Mixes & Demos’ will be released on 20 June on Metalville Records.

‘Level Headed’, released originally in January 1978, was without doubt the most distinctive album SWEET had ever produced up to that point. AllMusic praised the album in their retrospective review for its wild mix of styles and the band’s shift from their earlier bubblegum singles to album-orientated rock.

In many ways, it was a gamble for SWEET. On the one hand, it shows many facets of the band that were easily overlooked on earlier albums and at the same time, for the first time, new, previously unheard aspects.

‘Level Headed’ gave SWEET their last top ten hit with the dreamy ‘Love Is Like Oxygen’, a single that would later prove to be essential in the band’s oeuvre.  

The new release ‘Level Headed Alternate Mixes & Demos’ on Metalville Records is a real rarity in SWEET’s catalogue. The album was previously only available as a strictly limited vinyl version in the USA and will now be released on CD worldwide for the first time.

SWEET, one of the most legendary, influential and enduring names in the history of rock music, will re-release their 2012 studio album ‘New York Connection’ on 18 April via Metalville Records. The CD version also includes four bonus tracks not included on the original release.

‘New York Connection’ is a selection of tracks originally written by other artists, which SWEET have given their own distinctive sound.

‘As well as a decent selection of must-haves, we’ve also added guitar riffs, drum beats or vocal lines from our own classics where appropriate.’  (Andy Scott)

For example, the guitar line from SWEET’s ‘Burn On The Flame’ was incorporated into ‘It’s All Moving Faster’, while ‘Blitzkrieg Bop’ by the Ramones contains elements of ‘The Ballroom Blitz’.

Of particular note is the fusion of Russ Ballard’s ‘New York Groove’ (previously covered by both Hello and former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley) with Jay-Z’s ‘Empire State Of Mind’. When you read it, you might not believe it… it works!
